Too Many Time Wasters!!

Jump to: Newest in thread

By (user no longer on site) OP     over a year ago

There seems to be an alarming increase in time wasters on this site. It’s as though a lot of people come on here to chat about things they want to do or fantasise about and the then pull out or go quiet once it gets to actually meeting up.

Don’t you agree?

My definition of timewaster is someone who arranges to meet on x day at x time then never shows up

To me, a time waster is someone you've arranged to meet, you spend time getting ready, travelling etc only for them to no show with no contact. Chatting then going quiet is frustrating but happens, you'd probably be on here chatting to someone anyway so I don't see your time has really been wasted. Others may disagree though.

Yawn! Yep lots of time wasters, think we have all established that, but rather than waste time moaning about it move on and enjoy the genuine people.

You’ve been here 2 minutes, being a member does not give entitlement, bear with and be patient and good mannered, strike up good conversations here and socially, try a local club and get to know people, etc etc etc.... it’s all been covered before. Good luck

Annoying as it may be to you op, it's a common discussed theme on here, and unfortunately there is only yourself that can stop or allow your time being wasted, have a read through some of the other posts about it and see if anything could help

"[The wrong words removed by poster at 17/01/18 11:28:12]"

If you were to type time wasters in to the forum thread search tool you'd find that it's always been a thing. Sometimes flaring up but not going away. It's just always been there! Like bareback threads

Yep lots do. Trust your gut and you may be able to avoid them.

Welcome to the forum.

Ignore the people that whine about this being asked before. It's about time they got banned for making stupid comments. You can post whatever you like within the forum rules. If they don't like it they should leave the thread the fuck alone.

Absolutely spot on! We've experienced this on here and other sites we've previously used.

We’ve had about 6 messages the last couple of days off people who have not read our profile when we’ve pointed this out to them and they’ve carried on messaging then asking to meet and we say no they accuse us of being timewasters. Maybe something in your messages suddenly change there mind.

What is a time waster ?

People's lives are busy , so can't meet drop of a hat .

Got to be attracted to somebody .i think it is a hard task to find someone who ticks all boxes i want .

I meet I chat but am I a time waster as i have no intention in meeting all I chat too .

Easy tiger. Much like you expressing your opinion, anyone saying it has been said before is also not breaking any rules

I am a time waster in the purest sense, I have ADHD (which really is a thing, who'd have thought it?) and I have been at work since 8.30am, so far all I have done is look on here, procrastination is my middle name. Its not actually, I have no middle name.

you get to know those who are genuine and those who aren’t, go with your gut feeling and make sure whoever you are chatting to is at the very least verified by meeting someone in person. it’s still not a guarantee of course but it illiminates a lot of people who just like to talk the talk.

Thanks to all that have shared their opinions although some have made it clear this topic has been brought up many times. I agree with most of you, I guess being a time waster can be defined in several ways depending on which side of the fence you find yourself. I however think it would be nice to either tell the other person you are only interested in chatting or politely telling them them at the end of a long build up why you would want to pull out of any arrangements. I think what would really help is the ability to leave a feedback or rating on people's profile which will deter people from messing people about and getting a negative feedback or rating left on their profile. (I won't be surprised if this suggestion has been made ages ago haha...I seem to be behind)
