A good profile is a must for me. If someone has a rubbish profile, then it doesn't matter what message they send, I wont be replying.
As for what things in a profile put me off.... what I write in mine should do the trick |

If I make mine fluffy the proportion of messages from idiots goes up. Pics make more difference, but having said that a male friend just radically rewrote his profile and his views have increased, despite having no pics up yet. He has been putting up more status updates too. |

Yes I read profiles before deciding to email someone on here. Personally I like to see a bit of humour in a profile and if the profile is just one long rant then it puts me off. |

I love reading a good profile and often PM someone who made me laugh or wrote something I liked |

I find our views go up when we use the status update. I can only assume those viewing do pay attention to our profile as we rarely get messages. |
