I had a conversation via message with a guy who is adamant that I'm fake and that he speaks to the real me on a site that I'm trying to get my pictures removed from and the real me said they didn't have an account on fab so I must be fake.
It's getting pretty tiresome now telling people that my pictures are me, get people asking why I don't display my verifications, 2 of them are stupid ones, had a guy verify me after seeing me on the self serve at Asda and then another guy saying he cycled past me on his bike, can hardly display those can I  |

Although.... Before the forum eagle eyes catch it.... I will admit to reporting a profile that was using one of my pics many years ago. At the time I was upset and annoyed however, as with most things, I have since grown and realised it's not worth getting upset over.
Yes, use tools to get them removed if you wish, as I did then and thank fully it was just a picture of my legs. |

The phrase is used a lot, because some people get drawn in by them a lot, and experienced people waste rime avoiding them. I think most people find it annoying, as their time is precious and they have spent it having their hope raised and time wasted by someone who is a complete liar. You might be fine having that done to you, but most people find it frustrating. |

Yeah.... Annoyed i get but 'time waster' is thrown around like it'd the crime of the century on here sometimes. A bit of perspective is needed.
The phrase is used a lot, because some people get drawn in by them a lot, and experienced people waste rime avoiding them. I think most people find it annoying, as their time is precious and they have spent it having their hope raised and time wasted by someone who is a complete liar. You might be fine having that done to you, but most people find it frustrating."

Yes they are they are deceiving people and stealing someone else's photo's.
But how is that hurting someone? It's annoying but that's it really. If they are professional in the Internet then they are in the public domain and open for use by anyone.
So it's ok to use other people's photos just because they're out there anyway? Someone may actually go as far as arranging a meet with a fake profile as well and have their time wasted.

I only come on here when I've got nothing better to do and so have time to waste. I also don't invest time in just one person when looking for meets. If one turns out to be a fake there are others I am chatting to that I can then focus on.
You only talk to men though, I am guessing the number of fake male profiles is relatively low. The number of fake ‘female’ profiles is about 50% and I come on here to try and meet people, I don’t like wasting that time talking to fake profiles,

I think you are making that judgement based on what you do. You are writing off peoples experience of quite a large issue based entirely on you doing something else.
For example, we don't get 100s of crappy messages and cock pics, but we can empathise with those who do, and acknowledge it is an annoyance. |

I do acknowledge its an annoyance, I just chose not to react to it the same way as others and therefore it does not impact that greatly on my experience of fab. We all have the power to chose how we react to things. If getting overly and disproportionately annoyed about something affects how you enjoy something then make some changes.
We are never going to get rid of guys (and girls) who get their fix from being someone they're not. It's like the weather.... Nothing we can do can affect what the weather will do. So why get upset about it? |

I do acknowledge its an annoyance, I just chose not to react to it the same way as others and therefore it does not impact that greatly on my experience of fab. I don't get upset about it, I just don't like them. The op didn't either, he just asked why they do it.
I think most people see them like wasps at a barbecue - they don't like them and wish they weren't there. The odd person might go ott about them. |
