I press the power button 2hich lights up then goes off after 2 seconds.

Is it totalled?

Possibly bricked. Firmware is different to the OS and powering off when upgrading it is possibly the worst thing you can do.

What's the make and model?

Not necessarily - you can try BIOS recovery boot.

Power it off then hold down CTRL + Esc and power it on - Fingers crossed you will get the BIOS recovery option to restore it.

Update ; its bricked. Worth a try n thanks for the advice anyway.

The message at the time said not to swich off while updating firmware but not the consequence, otherwise i wouldn't have tried rearranging extension leads whole it was running. Will just have to get it fixed

Firmware wouldn't be a PC update. Most likely a hard drive or some such in which case you've only bricked a component

Firmware is the BIOS Update, so if you've unplugged, likely it's fooked. Trip to local repairer suggested.

Problem is, the bit that was updating is the bit that can usually fix things. Search for factory reset for your model but even that may be fooked if it too was part of the bit that was updating.

Motherboards usually have a jumper that resets the bios. Or remove the cmos battery for a few minutes?
