So what are the unwritten rules on posting in the forums? We all have access to the site rules, just wondered what your advice to watchers n newbie posters would be, make it useful information, stuff that they can use to help them understand how the forums and the people who use them regularly work.

Never be afraid to speak your mind on a subject, providing your post doesn't contain abuse to another member or breach site rules, then just go for it.
Better to stand out for your beliefs than fall in line just to please a more vocal member....
Even if I don't agree with a post I will always respect someone more for having the guts to stand up for their beliefs.... |

Be true to yourself.
Never lie.
Look at your own possible issues first rather than focus on other peoples.
Be prepared that if you have a difference of opinion/disagreement once, it may last longer than just that thread.
If you fall out with someone, you may find you have fallen out with 2 or 3 of their chums.
and there are always more than one side to any story
and if you make a mistake, put your hand up and say sorry... we all make them. |

Really fuck's people off.

Dont expect a forum of any sort to give a single answer. Good forums(and this is one of them) have a wide variety of opinions, treat this as a strength.
If you do get a general answer u dont like..ie most posters seem to agree, dont assume conspiracy...they might just be right
Dont ask any question you wont like the answers too
And remember people have memories, they notice if you praise BBWs one week then have a dig at fat birds the next |

My advice would be...don't think the regulars are any different than you that they need understanding so you can use the forums better....they are members just like you, and were all new at some point.
Jump in, don't take threads too seriously as even serious threads get some humour through them and most of all have fun. |

Have the courage to speak your _iews, even if everyone else disagrees.
Don't put up with put downs or members trying to take the piss - stand up and challenge it
Don't send private messages to members in relation to a forum post, if you've got something to say don't be a coward, say it in public or not at all
Don't suck up to more vocal members trying to hang off their coat tails
Don't be a fence sitter and wait for a braver person to post with comments like 'ill get the popcorn' - speak up if you disagree with something
Join in as much as you can or wish to

If you set out to impress people, you probably won't.
Just because someone types it, it doesn't make it true... often people are talking out of their arse and most people know it … even if they don’t type it.
People are rarely as nice as they like to type they are…. pushing keys is far easier than living the values they bang on about.
The forum isn’t one big homogonous entity, so basically don't give a rats arse about sucking up in an attempt to make other people happy... you might befriend one group and alienate another…. and anyone with their own mind will see straight through it.
Not everyone will like you.
Not everyone will hate you.
Not everyone will even notice you.
Be true to yourself.
Don’t be a twat.

not everyone is going to like everything you say (and yes, fence sitters and people whose opinions change on whichever way the wind blows are noticed) but as long as you back up whatever you say in a reasonable manor then you'll survive the madhouse... |

Would advise to ignore a lot of what has been posted as most are just reiterating what THEY dislike! Just post exactly what you want and be mindful of the rules.
Be careful not to deliberately upset people and if you do, stand your ground on point of _iew but try to stay even and pleasant!
Forget the forum “back catalogue”. If no one asked questions that had been asked before, this place would be dead! It also gives chance for new _iewpoints on older subjects.
Don’t get sucked into the “Race” thing! Accept that some have a preference for a particular race, colour or creed. And remember that word.. Preference! We all have them and that is OK.
If you are new to the scene and a bit nervous, take no notice of those who would have you believe they are more worthy because they have been here longer. They won’t directly say that, but they will use phrases such as. “This has been done to death” and similar.
Above all, don’t rise to the bait set by some on here. (me included!) If what I say is not your _iew, post to that effect but remember, to argue the point will not change a mind, but seem like you are trying to convince yourself.
But number one? Have fun and enjoy yourself. Grow a tough exterior and practice banter. Everyone including those who are a little difficult at times, have worth and their opinion is as valid as yours.
Oh and use these!

the term "trolling" is seriously misused on here
PS it's also an unwritten truism that you cannot be a troll if your avatar is a fit arse pic. |

Most of all be yourself.
Never be afraid to post your opinion even if it is different from others, diversity is the key.
But the most important thing to remember is we are all here for the fun and enjoyment.
Happy posting whoever you are |

If you're going to post a thread, or reply to something, or make a point it would be just smashing if you could just have the tiniest stab at throwing even the minimum of punctuation and spelling at whatever it is you want to say.
We're not looking for Proust but it's so much easier to take someone and their point of _iew seriously if they can spell words of up to four letters at least close to correctly.
To reiterate, we don't care if you're thick, it takes allsorts to make the site an interesting and fun place to be, we'd just rather you didn't spell it 'fick'.
We're even relaxed about people splitting infinitives. More so if you know what an infinitive is.
And, FYI, when the person below you says 'yes' in answer to the question 'would you fuck the person above', they don't mean it, they are merely being polite.

And hot from another thread!
Whatever you do, don't go onto a thread and say "There are a lot of very ignorant people on here" just because you don't get replies to mail! It kinda makes people edgy or pissed with you!
DOH!! |

Have fun, respect others even if their opinions are different to your own.
Some of us have been on here for a while and have met at social events, therefore, the banters flow better, which can be perceived as cliquey.
However, please remember we were all newbies once.
So jump in and join in. |

Rule 1. Don't type with your tongue just because you are still tied up.
Rule 2. Being a regular doesn't mean that you have to write at exactly 5 past 3 every day.
Rule 3. Male forum fans must remain naked at all times.
Rule 5. There is no rule 4.
Rule 6. If you have managed to read this far, you are far to clever to contribute to the forum and will be banned. |

I would say to the newibies done expect people to reply/respond to your comments for a while, they normally give their friends or other regualrs priority..even when you make the same point before them..
But stick at it and eventually youl get yourself noticed/accepted. |
