Sorry not sex related...I know :o shock horror!
So anyone got experience of horses, I like them but they also scare the bejeebers out of me, when they surround me haha how do you make them move back, if they look like there going to either lick and or bite me to death lol...I don't think it helps, when I am stood with a bag of apples and carrots 
One of them (ginger) we have known for a few years now, do they remember you?

to your question.. horses are herd animals, they like company which is why they will come close to you.
i hate cows for the same reason, but love horses,, weird !!!! |

We've a horse and they all usally love human company, but when there is food around, that will probably be their no1 target. Offer any food on the flat of your hand, also they love to lick your hands, talk gently to them they love that and enjoy them, take time with them.  |

We do feed them with a flat hand, normally only two where we stay, but there are now five, so was a little out numbered...but they all behaved, thankfully  |

a firm push on their chest will move them back, just act like you are in charge 
also, if you are that nervous of them dont get yourself backed into a position you feel you cant control. if you want to feed them then do so over a fence where, if you want to you can just walk away |
