go and find Oprah Winfrey's speech from the Golden globe awards last night...
just a thing of beauty.. and of passion... and of talking about a subject that sums up how we all should feel....
and on that.... i am out today! brought tears to my eyes....

"Oh, God, though. I heard she is now considering running for president in 2020. I don't like this integration of celebrity with politics. I really don't. "
I am now torn.... the problem is though the democrats don't really have a "name" to go up against trump.... as i think we are about the find when about 15 of them all throw their names in to be the democratic party nominee
the problem is the big democratic supporting actors (winfrey, tom hanks, george clooney ect) have a higher profile than the actual politicans....
if she had a "biden" next to her i think it is something that would scare republicans rigid....

I don't like it, though. From what I've seen reported, she has previously said she'd never run because of a lack of political experience but has been reconsidering after seeing trump be successful. That's not good enough for me. This level of political incompetence isn't something I want to see as precedent.
Not to mention that it feels very much like America is solidifying the existence and power of our own little aristocratic class by putting them in politically powerful positions....
I like Cory Booker. I think he should get some press and run in 2020. |

Because that's when the next presidential election is. If Trump is removed from office there won't be an election immediately....the Vice President will take his place until 2020. |

I think as scary as it is, he will last until his end of term! How the fuck he got in I have no idea, but unemployment is down etc, so I don't think he will be booted out as soon as we would want him to!  |
