Years ago, I slipped on a stair rung with my granddaughter on my hip and in protecting her, I landed on my bum and suffered massive soft tissue haemorrhage and a fat fracture. It's still visible on my left buttock.

Has anyone ever had one? Did it go away?

What unusual injuries have you had?

"Ouch "

To say it smarted a bit was and understatement, the bruising was from my waist, across my lower back and down to my knees. I didn't stand upright for four weeks!

couple, us we him her.

Burnt my helmet on a free standing colour gas heater many years ago.

Just had the sex, and was going to turn it off leant over rather than walk around it.

Knob fell onto the top followed by a hiss of burning and a loud yelp from me and hysterical laughter from jools and concerned knocking on door from my landlady.

Not sure how unusual it is these days but 30 years ago I smashed 2 vertebrae in my neck and it was very unusual back then... They actually didn't know how to treat it and as a result I have a misshapen neck (only visible on the inside lol) x

I sometimes dislocate my jaw slightly when I open my mouth to rush my teeth. I did it once and it was extremely painful for about a week and thankfully that's the worst it's been - ever since it's just very uncomfortable for a couple of days.

Yes - I do that too so makes sense! I had a brace then a guard when I was in my teens and not being able to grit my teeth when I was wearing it made me want to so I think I've acquired it as a mini rebellion... I've never met a fellow dislocator!

Another reason to give up smoking...

Serously, I am beginning to dislike it immensely.

Anyhow, I dropped a cigarette down my boot at a bus stop recently. Had to kick my boot off (I tried to do this surreptitiously at first but it became more frantic as it continued to burn) much to the amusement of fellow commuters.

I have two large blisters on my shin and ankle.

If you get the bits of skin and bone out of the saw teeth you'll be able to use it properly, no problem.

Got kicked in the mouth so hard my teeth went through my inner mouth and hooked over the lips through the hole.

Took a Dentist and a doctor to untangle it. Great scar though.

Ran a half marathon in cotton underwear. Bad mistake. Next level friction burns between my thighs from all the chafing while running.

Walking like I was about to poo myself for the next week.

Also took a full force Muay Thai knee in the balls without a groin guard. That made me want to take a nap and eyes water.

Ewwwww...

You've just reminded me that when, as kids, we were playing cricket in the garden. The boys made me be back stop, unfortunately I stood too close and got hit in the mouth with the bat. My tooth went through my top lip and I can remember my mum pullung my lip over the tooth. I can still just about feel the scar.

Many years ago I chipped my elbow / funny bone falling into a door. Took ages to mend and over time where it was chipped a little bone bump has appeared / grown back ~ if I knock that it really really hurts.

There’s a name for the bone regrowth, can’t think what it is at the moment.

I've been hit in the face by a baseball but no lasting damage.

I have hit myself on the head with a Ground-Breaking Bar. Never had it checked out but still have a lump on my head.

Whenever I tried a new sport that involved balancing on something, like skating, I sprained or broke my ankle. That's why I wouldn't go skiing

I've nicked my cock with clippers before when having a tidy up, I thought the bleeding would never stop! Got a small scar from that lol

Once while firing a rifle the telescopic sight came off the mounts with the recoil and split my eye open nearly all the way round, luckily the scar is hidden in my eyebrow but that bled a lot too.

Came off a motorbike once and took all the top layer of skin off down one side of my leg, that tickled a bit!

Had two inguinal hernias fixed about 9 years ago, got two big scars down either side of my groin and that hurt like hell for about 4 months afterwards!

I damaged my rotator cuff when i toppled over painting some skirting boards. My knee gave way and my collar bone/front of shoulder took full force of the fall. It hurt!!

Broke my ankle tripping over a loose carpet thread.

Broken both arms a few times when in School.

Been run over and my big toe sort of exploded/split underneath from the pressure. I have a faint scar but no lasting damage apart from a dodgy toe nail and a wariness of crossing the road without a green man flashing.

Not really unusual injuries though.

That reminds me I have been taken to A&E for getting a coat hanger in my eye.

I have been pecked in the eye by a hen.

I have been lightly stabbed in the eye with tweezers by my cat.

Eye injuries leave one temporarily blinded and convinced one will be blind. I should wear safety goggles.

Been butted in the side of my head by a goat and been trodden on by a horse

Been stung by a jellyfish and trodden on a horseshoe crab, That didn't injure me as such but I almost had a heart attack.

I forget I've had so much fun

Oh and I got the crap kicked out of me by a group of about 15 chavs when I was waiting for a taxi on my own on Christmas eve about 7 years ago, it didn't really hurt at the time but the next day my purple ribs and the huge hole in my lip where my tooth had come through it were a tad sore! All because I asked one of them to give me my Santa hat back that they swiped off my head as they went past

Only once they'd finished putting the boot into me on the floor, and it was girls as well as lads! I can handle myself but I didn't even see it coming, I was talking to one and another that I wasn't looking at punched me in the side of the face and I lost my footing and went straight down before they all piled into me, I was livid afterwards!!

Drove myself into a drain while riding a bike years ago.

That happened immediately after I over-take a merc driven by an old guy.

He drove past me and just look.

Nothing was injured - just my ego.

Came flying down the hill into the village on my bike, up onto the pavement at the bottom to go over footbridge. The road wasn't flooded at the time but the footbridge was humped. This meant you could do some pretty spectacular jumps and wheelies. As I landed on my back wheel my front one fell out. I watched it roll off down the road while in slow motion my forks dug into the tarmac and I flew through the air. Luckily my face cushioned my landing. The next thing I remember was waking up lying on the passenger seat of the dustbin lorry and the bin men helping my mum get me in her car to take me to the hospital. Thankfully I just needed a lot of stitches in my chin.

Just over 2 years ago I fell and slipped on my backside all the way down a flight of concrete stairs.

I was left with a 20cm x 16cm x 14cm (apparently about the size of a small loaf of bread ) haematoma in one of my bum cheeks... It took about 4 months for the visible bruising to fade, and over a year for the swelling to start going down. Its still a bit swolen now, so unsure if it'll stay like that or go down more
