am feeling very unloved today up here on my shelf so have decided i want to induldge in some soppiness
how did you meet your partner, was it love at first sight? did your eyes meet accross a crowded checkout?

I saw her looking at me.
She saw me looking at her.
Our eyes met, for but a moment. we both looked away.
I looked back.
She was looking at me.
She saw the bulge.
She smiled.
And spoke into her walkie-talkie.

May not be the best person, but...
I always went to Rock City Friday Night (rock, metal and all that)
Mrs went to Ritzy's in a Saturday (dance, pop etc)
One weekend, my mates from work decided to take me out 'on the pull' on a Friday
Mrs went out a day early due to a family event the Saturday night.
After a couple of drinks in a bar, I decide to go home. Friends lift me up and drag me to Ritzy's where I saw this woman dancing with her eyes closed...
2 years later we were married... |

I was out with friends for my 18th birthday (was 2 days before actual birthday) wasn't looking to meet as was already with someone. Got talking to Mr A and we arranged to meet the following night for a drink and thought why not he had a cheecky smile and lovely brown eyes. He told me it was his leaving party he was going to England to live. So anyway we meet for drink and realised we both liked each other alot. He went to England and we kept in constant touch and asked me to move over to him, I thought why not I had no job and i finished with other partner and went live with Mr A. 3 months later we where engaged and 5 months after that we were married. On friday we will be married 23 yrs.

We met on a blind date arranged by her brother who was a work mate of mine. I didn't even know he had a sister.
We got on quite well right from the off, apart from her being late for our date.
I was sitting in my car listening to England football match, so wasn't clock watching, lol.
We got engaged 6 months later. She was 17  and I was 24 
The last 30yrs have been quite good, even if I say so myself |

I was her(ex's ) lawyer. She was in Scotland & needed an english lawyer to sue a holiday camp in Blackpool for her injuries and her divorce guy knew my bos,so I got the case. After a lot of realllllly long phone calls(4 hours +, in the days before unlimited calls)and chats at work(my secretary kinda guessed about us right away) I dragged my ass from Norfolk to Glasgow, we fell in love & moved to Blackpool,splitting the difference in distance. |

Childhood sweethearts. But we went to different schools. I wouldn't have liked to have seen him as a schoolboy idiot if our 5th formers were anything to go by. Whereas he constantly harps back to the length (or lack of) my school skirts. |

met my ex down local pub he came over and asked for my darts to play a few games with his mates. i joined the game and he lost- forfeit was a night with me lol. tho was difficult with all the interruptions from the other 10 people who were staying that night lol
he moved back up from kent 2 months later we were married within a year - lasted nearly 20 yr. |

My female other half I met through work. I was a customer, we went out for a few drinks in a professional capacity & got on great.
We then went out as friends about 3 nights later, brandy got involved, sex got involved and the rest is history & that was 1995.
My long term male fb I had seen online but he didn't show any interest.
Then I spotted him out one night when I was getting mithered in a bar by some pisshead. I went over and said 'look i know you're not interested, but can I just talk to you for a few minutes til he pisses off'.
We got on great and one thing led to another and still see each other almost 6 years on.

I met *Him* online in yahoo chat about 12 years ago. Thought he was an old man at first 
A few years after we started chatting, he just turned up where I work one day to say hi. Came back to meet my (now!) ex for a coffee and it just went from there.
8 happy years later, here we are, married for 2 and blisfully happy.

First met at Pit & Pendulum for a few drinks then Frankie & Bennys for dinner.
During dinner he gave me his first "Tod Smile" & that was me hooked. Its the kind of smile that stops you in your tracks & erases all thoughts from your brain!
We didn't even play until the third time we met up.
It was a real head fuck for me, as I wasn't wanting anything serious, just a fuck buddy, but he waited patiently for me to accept that I had fallen for him & 3 & half years later I'm still head over heels & engaged!

We met at the racing stables we both worked in. 2 years later we married and 39 years on we still love each other loads.We have also gained a lot of weight lol thats happiness for you. |

we first meet at work, over 3 years ago. and it was Laughter at first sight,,, we have the same SOH and are both habitual flirts... wasnt long before work mates were telling us to get a room.. but nothing really happened untill i left for another job.
then the spark was let free so to speak , within a week we met at my place and " got it on" ,,,, a few bumps along the road.. mostly us running scared from the deep feelings we had, before we finally admitted to how we felt and now getting ready for our wedding next year..
never been happier then i am now... i smile everyday and we laugh all the time. |

i was walking through our bus station when this guy appeared coming up the escalator and i just thought WOW, he looked like a tall Billy Idol i was then gutted to see this gorgeous girl with pink hair next to him they were laughing and chatting and i guessed it was his girlfriend so thought no more of it until a week later i spotted him in a pub i was in with friends and he was chatting to my friends fella, when he came back i asked who the guy he was chatting with was he said it was his best mate so i then asked who the girl with pink hair was he informed me it was his sister, i think then the smile on my face made it obvious to my friend that i rather liked this fella and before i knew it they were trying to set us up well it didn't take much setting within 11 months we were married that was 22 happy years ago |

Brockwell Park South London 1983...
Festival for Peace Concert, went with a couple of girlfriends and met the other half while watching the Style Council.
He was working as a junior reporter for a well known music publication at the time, and as way of chatting me up he got us backstage to meet Madness and some of The Damned....
Later that summer he took me to the Crystal Palace bowl to see Curtis Mayfield....ahhhh, the summer of love. |

We met at a club that I worked in. I couldn't stand Chris, and thought he was an arrogant arse! One night whilst out in town we started talking and my opinion changed. He was actually quite nice and very funny. We then spent 3 years as best mates (with benefits) but we both had other partners on and off. We fell out for 10 months and I realised how much I 'liked' him! The rest is history. Two years later we live together...
I'm sure if he were to write an account of how we got together, it would be very different tho!

it was freshers week at uni, my friend an i were experienced second years, we decided to help a newbie out and introduce them to all the right people , we went down to the student union and picked the most nervous looking guy, all long dreads and silly jumper, took him home for tea , 21 years together now and going strong xxxx |
