Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

Right, Estella and Ligeia (and anyone else), I've watched them all now.

I didn't warm to Jo and Laurie in this production, which is why I found it disappointing.

She just looked surly or petulant most of the time, rather than passionate, impetuous and compassionate. He didn't seem playful enough.

Both improved in the last episode with their scenes with Bhaer and Amy but not enough to redeem the whole thing.

I think some of the production choices also affected me liking it. There were too many scenes of washing fluttering in the wind against the sky and the music made it feel a tad twee.

I've got more but I'm ready for your take on it.

I didn’t warm to Jo but I liked Laurie’s aesthetic, although very much take your point on board. He had the right face/smile for me. Jo didn’t click despite me initially thinking she could have potential, and a few times I felt myself warm to Amy over her - which was unnerving. You know she was played by Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke’s daughter? My sister adored the production and we had quite an argument as I enjoyed (endured?) it all but it didn’t pierce my heart like I wanted it to.

Emily Watson was good but I kept remembering her having it off in Apple Tree Yard! I did however fancy the actor who played John Brooke!

Yes! You're not supposed to warm to Amy until she grows and becomes less bratty. I kept feeling that Jo was exhibiting more Amy characteristics.

I kept seeing Courtney in Jo, too. Just face and build, not character.

Oh hell! You’re so right. She sent me her new hair cut pic and I knew there was someone she reminded me of facially! That’s exactly who it was! Oh well done, you!

"Jimmy Krankie was dead creepy"

For some reason I'm thinking of Joey reading Little Women in Friends now.

I looked up the compliments and complaints about this version.

Several compliments describing this as the best version with Jo played really well.

Lots of complaints about the sound quality and intrusive music.
