Happy New Year..!!

I ran a Dry January thread last year and it went fairly well so thought I’d resurrect the idea for 2018.

A place for support, sharing ideas or just general chit chat.

This is my second year and I’m wondering if it’s going to be harder than the 1st time as I know what’s coming :D I liked doing last year as it was the kick start I needed to getting fitter & I slept really well too.

Soooooo....anyone else participating?

Go Roxi!!

Tbh I'm not a big drinker anyway so it's easy for me abstain.

Not today though I have some nice prosecco left that I'm going to enjoy with a splash of chambord

After that I won't touch a drop until my birthday next month.

No alcohol so far in 2018, plus healthy eating and a bit of running...and nearly 3lbs weight loss.

Mine lasted a day ?? too depressed to give it up. Which is abit ironic as alcohol is a depresent.

Good luck to everyone who is trying to stay dry.

The idea is that they pay your petrol instead of getting a taxi- or tell the tight gits to walk home

Wiltshire and London

There was never much chance of a dry January where I am - too many gigs, and after those a beer is de rigueur - but Jan has turned moist (I know, I know...) and from this weekend I'll be back on the bike, with serious distances planned, not just pootling around SE London.

I got to May one year and realised I’d not had a drink since New Year.

Unlikely to ever happen again... I like wine too much.

Day 20 and this has been the hardest one yet. Still off the booze but boy it's not easy.

It's the only addictive d*unk where people try to shame you into having a drink. Holding out but not sure how much longer the will power will hold out.

Now all the alcohol has left the body 7 hours sleep straight through from 1130 to 630 and the dozing off again until 8am, absolutely bliss. No more getting up for a wee at 3am or waking in a fugg or heading straight to the fridge to pour cold Coca Cola down my throat. Amazing.
