I'm open about being a smoker. If I meet with a non smoker I go without. I'm always taken aback when they offer me a ciggie or ask me if I mind if they light up.

The excuses I've heard are, I had given up and I started again, or, a lot of people won't meet smokers so it's easier to put non smoker and just not smoke on the meet.

It does annoy me, because even though I smoke, I instantly see the dishonesty in them.
