If it's awful, which small car would you recommend?"
Get an Abarth one |

"They are brilliant!
Close thread!
"
Not quite lickety
I have a daihatsu sirion and was in two minds to buy the Hyundai i10 as they are excellent on reliability and economy. But the price of the sirion was just too tempting....but parts are a nightmare to get hold of and I should have went for the hyundai with hindsight..
Check them over as I think you may like them

"My two little sisters have these and absolutely love them, I’ve done work on both of them, cheap to run and cheap for parts, reliable cool little cars "
Thanks. I don't have to travel the distances I used to, as much, now but I'm not ready to give up having a car. I know it's a climate change selfish thing but I'm weak.

Tuned up 500 with more aggressive styling, funky little hot hatch but runs out of steam after 60mph, in terms of competitors the fiesta ST is far superior in that price range.
You just don’t see many abarths where as STs are everywhere. |

I haven't looked at the Fiesta yet. I got caught up with liking the look of the Fiat 500. Now that I've looked at these Abarth ones I'm tempted... but they may be more than I can run to at the moment.

"They’re brilliant!
Or get a Morris Minor. "
One of my earliest cars was a Morris Minor. The glove compartment would pop open at every bump in the road and the brakes would drop out and need pumping every once in a while. I loved that car.

Sadly not no running out of steam at 60 , depends how your driving is!
No disrespect for any St's owners out there. |

I had a split window screen one, with indicators that popped out and you would crank start it! It starred in a Joan Hickson Miss Marple drama! I loved it too. Such good cars. |

Get the 180bhp one that's what I'm looking at just now. Saw one remapped to 240bhp. That's a lot of power in such a little car c |

I’m likely to be changing my car next year and if I was looking for a runaround I’d get one without any question

i do around 30000 miles a year in my fiat and get around 60 miles to a gallon from it..
its just approaching 180,000 miles and apart from a new battery and a clutch it has been faultless.
i really cannot fault them. |

That sounds like a rounding endorsement. I only do about 6,000 miles a year now.

"As long as you call it Luigi if it is yellow
Why if it's yellow? I'm not sure I can have a yellow car."
Because as I am reliably informed by my five year old niece every time I drive past one the Fiat 500 in Cars 3 is called Luigi. And he is light yellow. I mainly see white ones or mint green ones around my area though |

Ah! That makes perfect sense.
I don't like the mint green. It looks like the wrong shade of green.

As regards those who would put you off purely for the Fiat badge, I once owned a Seicento
I had it for a while. It clocked up some miles. It was faultless. Not a jot of problems.
My mate also had one. It drove him demented. It pretty much fell to bits.
Same manufacturer. Same model. Totally different views on the car.
So, in short, if you fancy a 500, get one |

I've had fiat's. Both broke very badly.
It seems fiat is hit and miss..some can be ok and some just fail in big ways. I won't take that gamble on them again. |

FIAT. FIX. IT. AGAIN. TOMORROW. So my mechanic says.
My 500 was a bit of a lemon, but I bought it second hand.
I'd like to think a new one would be more reliable x |

We've had panda for few years now got 150k on a 1.2 dynamic model never gave us any bother other than consumables, modern fiat's are just as good as everything else out there, we've had older ones and yes they were a nightmare |

Never had one of the new 500's but we've just got rid of (at last) 3 Panda's and a Punto which we had for the business.
All four were a complete bag of shit.
We made the mistake of buying (rather than leasing) them and pretty much as soon as the warranty ran out things started going wrong.
Two gearboxes, Two full wiring looms, three power steering pumps, and they were just the larger (more expensive) items.
When we finally got rid of them last month they were still only five years old. FIAT. Fucking Impossible All (the) Time. |

You shouldn't have a problem with the Peugeot 107 on both accounts plus you can have extras like spoiler and things added before you get it |

Is that all road noise or on dual carriageways and motorways?

You'd be surprised. I can't reach to close the boot on the Vauxhall Adam.
