What do you call the thingies used for picture framing?

Got given a framec picture for Xmas, it’s a nice gift but when I opened it it nearly fell out of the frame.

There were some tack like things in the wrapping which had come off & since gone missing. It’s the ones that secure the backboard to the frame that can be lifted if you wanted to clean inside.

My new knowledge of framing tells me I’m 3 or 4 of these missing making it impossible to hang, it doesn’t tell me where I can buy & how to fix attach them.

Anybody help & have any idea what I’m on about?

Thanks.

King's Crustacean

Yes. They are called 'turn buttons'.

Look them up on a picture framing site or better still faithful old AMAZON.

Just stick the back down with some good masking tape and clean it in the next decade.

Thanks for that, I had a look online, turn button isn’t the right thing. What I had were a very small thin strip of metal with a point at one end, looks like they are somehow pushed or hammered on top of the board into the frame.

No it’s not for hanging, it’s for securing the back board to the frame to stop the glass picture falling out!
