Hi All,
Impromptu first meet was organised for 8pm. She suggested a pub to meet at.
Before leaving, I messaged her saying I’m on my way, and gave rough location where I was leaving from.
I parked the car in the pub car park and ordered my drink at the bar at 8:05pm.
When logged into this site to send her the message saying I’ve arrived, I saw her No Show message and that she had already left the pub.
Question is, does this constitute a no show?
Thanks
PS. Genuinely trying to rationalise the outcome. Don’t think there’s a right or wrong answer to this. Just trying to get the majority view. |

Personally id have ordered a drink and given you til I finished it to show up.
The fact you had said you were on your way would make me give you the benefit of the doubt.
Id say anything up to 10 min or so is acceptable for running late, you cant help getting stuck in traffic or delays and most people should know that. |

"Was she even there in the first place?"
That's the question I'd be asking.
And if you were there at 5 past and she wasn't then she'd have had to leave before then. So... |

Tbh I met someone who made it very clear to me that if I was late she would leave as she wasn’t waiting beyond the meet time.
I think there are a lot of people stood up, and the nature of the vulnerability makes people set hard limits that should be respected imo.
Harsh but fair imo |

Message sent was defo 8:05.
Pub wasn’t busy, didn’t saw anyone leave but you never know. Good point.
I would have thought they’d have some decency to txt say, “sorry but no thanks. “

"Was she even there in the first place?"
That would be my question too
We've all been stood up or generally piddled about
But personally I dont buy the story that she left because you were five mins late |

You ordered your drink at 8.05 and logged into the site to message her ?
Why didn't you TEXT her or PHONE her ?
Did you not have her number ?
Did you speak to her on the phone before you moved out of the house to meet ?

5 minutes late does seem harsh to be classed as a no show.If it was me I would have got their 20 minutes early however traffic , public transport sometimes makes it easier said than done. |

hindsight is 20:20 lessons for all I guess, as soon as you relax few key rules like, Talk before meet, even if it’s rush, then beware. |

I tend to get there at least 15min early to grab a drink and compose to make first impressions etc, but shit happens.
I know some folks would say as they swipe their hand in the air, “excuses!”. I get it.

I was an hour late to meet someone who travelled across London to meet me, near mine.
Shit happens. |

5 mins is harsh though, I would've waited at least 6!!! "

I was over 30 mins late for a date last month, and didn't get another.
My own fault for going through a real difficult time and being ill and doing a lot of work. I was in no shape to manage and needed to rest, should have arranged the date for when I was a bit better, but as usual I bite off too much. Should have waited till I was well enough to do it properly. Oh well. |

"I'd call that 'bottled it'
Reckon she's too chicken shit to have a meet with you dude!
Move on to a real woman! "
Aiiiiii Dudette
I know I’m not the first or last who will experience this and it does go on. Which is super unfortunate.

Sounds like she is a bit high maintenance.
OK you were late but not massively.
Think you had a lucky escape.
Even with no message of running late we would always give someone at least 15mins grace.
We are the type who always turns up half hour early for everything so can't understand why anyone is late tho.
Jolly bad form. |

"I’d allow 15 minutes if she was a hottie, 2 seconds if not.
Looks like that’s the question you need to ask yourself, OP "
Just anylasing this comment, you’d arrange to meet women from both ends of the spectrum? But you would only hang around if she was a “hottie” as you call her and 2 seconds if not?
You would arrange to meet women who are both hot and not? .......... but would only wait around for the hottie?
Nope, I’m trying my best to understand this comment of yours but I just can’t, could you explain if for me please? |

@Will. The guy is saying I’m probably ugly as sin and hence she didn’t hang around after agreeing to meet.
Just for the record as I’d like to be fair.
She has veris, so she’s real unless all veris are fake. We did exchange face pics before hand.
All I can say is, more likely, she had zero intentions of meeting, it was just some sick run-around for me so she could get her stupid kicks, and to get sympathy vote by sticking “no show/time waster”status on her profile.
Or she was genuinely there (which I don’t believe) and left promptly, cold feet etc etc.
Anyway, many thanks for everyone’s contributions. Happy Fabbing to you sexy peeps. |

Not sure why the situation leads people to think she was a fake or didn’t show? I’m not a meet vet by any means, but how would the person have know he was late had they not been in the vacinity and waiting? May have got there early and thus been waiting
OP:
i) had you swapped contact details prior to the meet?
ii) had you agreed on a specific location within, or outside, the venue to meet?
iii) what did the no show message say? (Without revealing the identity of the sender) |

Just because someone doesn't fancy you, doesn't mean you're ugly as sin. I don't fancy Tom Hardy or George Clooney. They're not ugly. |
