I had lots of gin related stuff as gifts, I think I must have a bit of a reputation
I don’t have a favourite, but my most recent discovery is Poetic License, lovely with a slice of pink grapefruit. |

"Not a big gin fan but I’ve been given a bottle of bombay sapphire. What’s good to mix it with? "
That a good Gin, I wouldn't spoil it with anything other than a nice tonic. |

"Hi there
Checking in with two bottles on the go. A very sexy little cucumber gin and a pink grapefruit gin. Both so very refreshing.
Pity I can’t drink either, I have a stomach bug "
Tried pink grapefruit but not cucumber. Bet that's so nice. |

Errm...
I may have a gin problem
I've got about 30 bottles. Or more.
So many :-/
A lot of faves, some are nice, and a few to avoid...
I'll have to make a list!!
Also a selection of tonics - The avoids are easy on those, Fentimans, L&W Cucumber, and errm, a welsh one I can't remember than smells like unwashed butt.
But yeah - Some of the faves I do have - Is San Miguel gin from the Philippines. £2.50 a bottle - and it's really really refreshing like Larios.

"Got a couple of bottles of rubarb and ginger gin not tried it yet, any advice on what tonic to use with it? Thanks "
If it's the Edinburgh Gin Rhubarb and Ginger Gin Liqueur just have it with a few ice cubes. It's lovely cool. |

Iceland, but Aldi is closer.. |
I got a few bottles of gin which I've only been able to sample but are really nice..
Tarquins from Cornwall which has a real nice orange flavour and Anno from Kent which has a lemon thyme scent to it.
also got a Whitley and Neil and a portobello Rd, all of which I think will take a bit of a hammering in a few weeks once my treatment finishes.. |

Soooo some advice needed here if I may?
Larios - Is this Spanish? Saw it in the local Mercadona in Fuerteventura and opted for Gordons as no idea if it was any good. Seeing as I'll be back in Fuerte later this year you'd recommend I go for Larios instead? (Which would be fine with me as it's cheaper! )
Also.... was given a bottle of Sipsmiths by my housemate for Crimbo. Not cracked it open yet but do you know if it's any good? |

sipsmiths is good, its one of the more redily available premium gins such as Portobello road, whitley and neill and Plymouth. |

I was a bit surprised with the Sipsmiths tbh as we normally get each other a token gift around a tenner (crate of cider or beer!).
As my local shop is Aldi I normally pick up a bottle of the Oliver Cromwell and I've just seen how many awards it's picked up at such a cheap price. Tbh, I can't claim to be a gin connoisseur as not sure my tastebuds are up to it so forking out £50-£60 when I'm only gonna end up necking it seems a bit of a waste! |

The Lidl or Aldi gins are really good for the price. If you can get proper Turkish delight and drop a few cubes in and leave it to infuse they are stunning. |

Sipsmiths does a lovely sloe gin but I did think good old Gordon's Sloe was the winner this year.
I also had a bottle of bath tub Gin which I've not tried and some Reykjavik Gin from a friend in Iceland |

Do you freeze the Turkish delight? |

No just have a gin or two from the bottle then put a few cubes in til it fills again as such. Put the lid on and leave it in the cupboard til it dissolves into the gin. It's really good and doesn't take too long. |

Just getting back into Gin
The Botanist seems to be my particular fave at the moment as all we used to drink was Gordon’s!
Another vote for the Cromwell Gin from Aldi too. Very good for the money

oh and 4 ltrs of homemade sloe gin! pick the sloes ideally after. frost if not pick and leave in the freezer for 48 hours. The frost improves sweetness leave for a month or longer until the gin is a nice purple colour just lovely! |

English heritage do an awesome damson gin, best excuse for visiting castles I know of. Pop to the shop first and they let you taste all of them before you buy one, but I always end up buying the damson one |

Citadelle "No Mistake" Old Tom served straight over ice and with a wedge of orange.
Four Pillars Bloody Shiraz with red grapes and Mediterranean tonic.
No.209 with fever tree, grapefruit bitters and a huge wedge of grapefruit.
Also you can't go wrong with Williams Aged Sloe and mulberry. |

"Must admit marks and Spencer's did a mulberry Gin but really wasn't anything special.
Not keen on the Gordons Pink Gin but the Sipsmith Sloe is good. "
I brought a bottle of the pink Gin and didn't like it at all, didn't like the taste at all. Mixed it with pink grapefruit in the end and it was ok. |
