It's easy to forget the real meaning of Christmas - so take some time to do it.

It was a Roman replacement of a winter pagan festival, where people ate, drank and likely fornicated, a long, long time after the Bethlehem incident.

It's about getting into more debt than their house is worth and posting pics on Facebook of 1,000 presents under the tree so that everyone knows what a fucking good parent they are.

You're basically spot on, believe it was a pagan feasting festival but on the 22nd, or there or thereabouts, the shortest day of the year anyway. Celebrating the turning point of days getting longer again.

They used to really know how to live - the festivals went on for days, until about the 25th. We're short changed now, just 1 day!

Spare a thought for those wonderful pagans who left us Christmas

You've rumbled the big corporations. Don't forget the new year's furniture sales after Christmas and the summer holiday ads just after Easter. Did I miss anything?
