It's easy to forget the real meaning of Christmas - so take some time to do it.
It was a Roman replacement of a winter pagan festival, where people ate, drank and likely fornicated, a long, long time after the Bethlehem incident. |

It's about getting into more debt than their house is worth and posting pics on Facebook of 1,000 presents under the tree so that everyone knows what a fucking good parent they are. |

You're basically spot on, believe it was a pagan feasting festival but on the 22nd, or there or thereabouts, the shortest day of the year anyway. Celebrating the turning point of days getting longer again. |

They used to really know how to live - the festivals went on for days, until about the 25th. We're short changed now, just 1 day!
Spare a thought for those wonderful pagans who left us Christmas

no it was solely to do with Santa delivering the prezzies on his sleigh that's what my dad told me  |
