hate it, it takes me ages to read it and understand what people are saying, hopefully with new tablets and phones that have proper keyboards this will disapear. was invented to cut down on text characters and to spedd up the old non predictive text on old mobiles.

No need for it at all anymore!!

Times change mate. Whether we like it or not nothing stays the same.

We can either accept messages written in text speak or simply reject it.

I'd bet a pound to a pinch of shite though, that if you got a message written in text speak from someone you fancy the pants off, you wont be too quick to press the delete button

I know I wouldn't, but not everyone lives by the same standards as me

times do change, but can go back again when technology catches up, do find it wierd when 50 yr olds are still using it and 20/30 yr olds have all started to revert back to using full sentences again, dont have any friends anyomre that use it and any that do get the piss taken out of them!!

I can honestly say i don't use it. My punctuation is shockingly bad though, sometimes i just can't be bothered with capital letters

I don't like it, don't use it, and don't respond to men that use it. I have on my profile "no text speak" so if they ignore that what else will they ignore.

If Daniel Craig wrote to me in text speak I'd be disappointed for a second before I deleted him!

My spelling and grammar fail me at times, and while I may lol, or sometimes particularly in chat rooms. I do endeavour to use proper sentences complete with punctuation and paragraphs.

Interesting I have found a growing number of young people who hate txt speak too. The need for it was largely due to the hassle of typing a message on an old mobile phone, with the new large touchscreens or full keyboard devices it is not really needed.

Would I reject a meet request from someone who had used txt speak, if it was for an at home/hotel meet then yes, but if a simple see you at club xyz next Friday probably not.

Why the above, because at a club you get a chance to evaluate the person, but for other meets I do like to be able to communicate and where people are all slang/gangsta stylee I run a mile.

People will use text speak to save a few seconds, then they'll spend hours sat on their arse playing computer games.

One of my mates came round to show me his new bike.

Lightened crank, lightweight chain and gear set, racing forks and bars.

I just looked at him and said "why don't YOU just loose a few pounds off your arse and keep a few pounds in your pocket?"

Don't be daft. It's probably a coded message for M.

Point I'm trying to make is that we try to save on something only to squander the advantage somewhere else.

...... and I'm bore shitless at the moment

Phrases like nuff said and jog on irritate me, especially when not from a teenager. I noticed a few different parents defending riotings using them. Think Im becoming a snob lol Oh well.

It would however be a bit off-putting if you went to a meet and they actually SPOKE text speak.
