It is just a unit of measurement, with no knowledge or concern for what happens within it. As we are personally responsible for our happiness, and even the shittiest events can have both bad and good attached, like all other time measurements beyond a few hours it's been good. Glad I was there to see it come, and hopefully go. |

Been a mixed year for me - some amazing memories and good times but also a dose of heartbreak and some life lessons learnt. I'm ending the year surrounded by good friends with some special people in my life who truly make me smile. And 2 funerals to attend before the year is out. So yes - a mixed bag!! Looking forward to 2018 |

It’s been a tough year overall - plenty of heartache, can’t seem to get to the dating thing to work at all - but distracted myself from that with working too hard and sharing some great memories with friends at some fantastic gigs this year.
Roll on 2018 , I’ll get it right next year !! |

On the whole it's been somewhere in the middle for me. Wasn't the worst year but certainly wasn't the best. Few highs and lows throughout to balance it out |

It started off pretty dire, both my son & I recovering from surgery.
Few other little blips, but the last half has been amazing.
Definitely a year to remember, and lots of great things to look forward to in 2018
I'm happy |

2017 hasn't been the best. With family break ups, illnesses and so much job upheaval.
Hopefully this time next year my feelings will be totally different |

Its been a nice quiet year after last year 2016 where my girlfriend of 4yrs and l split. Then my best friend of over 25 yrs tragically died last sept drowned in a lake in Poland on his last euro trip around europe before his move to Australia. So glad this year been quiet. |

Partially one of the best years ever, partially one of the worst! The past 4 months have been particularly rough so looking forward to seeing the back of it tbh! |

It's had it's food bits and it's bad bits but I try not to dwell on the bad bits.
Met some of you fabulous people at socials which was one of the best bits.

It’s been the third year in a row of difficult ones for me. I suffered some illness during the spring/summer and was off work for a prolonged period which has had a financial impact bringing its own stresses, my family suffered a third bereavement in 2 years and a large chapter of my life is officially coming to a close (which is a good thing, but it’s still caught me by surprise, the strength of my feelings).
But on the upside my kids are happy and doing well, my health is getting better, and I’m looking forward to a clean slate as of the new year. |

Year started off ok (well apart from loosing our house and having to go back into a room) I got a job and really enjoy that. After may it all got a bit bad,Ads and I almost split, my best friend committed suicide and then in I realised I was working with a complete knob, a proper airhead who was bringing me down at work, we used to job share but I ended up doing most of the work, I decided to leave (I also needed more money, that was the main reason for me leaving) but I was convinced to stay and given more hours so that was good and now I’m incharge of the department.
Then in November this year I had to make the journey back to Kent as my son had been hit by a car and I saw in Facebook someone had been hit by a car and ‘it didn’t look good’ (not knowing it was my son at the time), thankfully he is okish, he’s still in a lot of pain but I’m thankful he is alive and it wasn’t an actual car and it was a flat fronted van, if it had been a car he may not be here now as the impact would have been different.
And now the car is virtually conking out which means we’ve had to cancel our honeymoon in the breacon beacons as we can’t get there.
I’m hoping the last couple of weeks of 2017 ends with no drama (anything has to be better than the day before Xmas eve last year when we had to say goodbye to Ads cousin who also committed suicide a day after Ads birthday last year).
So actually, it’s been pretty shit.

I've never met you. I know almost nothing about you. We're unlikely to meet.
However, I'm really delighted that you've had the good news that you've been given the all clear again.
Congratulations! |

Mine started with heartbreak and a lot of miserable times. Then it started to get better in summer and it’s got better and better until tonight when I had some quite bad news that has brought me back to earth with a bit of a bump. |

Started off all positive, well the first 2 weeks at least . Then illness took me down for a good 4 months or so, with a week spell in hospital too. Once it started it just kept rolling.
Since May time its been a bit of a rollercoaster, battling with myself on the lows. But some goid times too (although nothing to rave about).
Hoping 2018 is going to be a better year |

It's been interesting stimulating confusing confounding and sometimes completely unexpected...
But next year will be better for everyone.
The past has gone the future is yet to come. Today we should celebrate today. |

For the most part a good year. Got to know lots of new people on the scence who we now count as friends. Some improvements on the work front for both of us. Eldest dau moved out to go to university. So proud of her. Cats now outnumber chinchillas. Car is still going. But a bit quieter on the hobby front. |

Nottingham/and everywhere my location says i am ;) |
Truly magical start to the year.. Dream job, exotic location. Living the dream..
Dream burst by my then partner taking Ill, medivack home. She unfortunately passed away. Lot of ups/downs all around
Then 5 weeks ago I had a benign tumour removed from my neck..
But I'm here!! I'm still smiling and Mr/Mrs irony has taught me don't get to complacent, or they will kick you in the balls when you least expect it.
Here's to 2018 folks |

Ohh I'm so sorry to read some awful things that happened to people here. Giving hugs.
A year with horrible lowlights, and nothing else but mediocrity. No real achievements or progress to speak of, if anything, regression. Severely burned out from 5-6 years of exertion while unwell, but still not reached a place of rest, and none in sight anytime soon. Struggling badly at work. And I try to be a glass half full person who tries to take responsibility for my life and pull myself up rather than be miserable, as I'm often accused of being. I deny all charges!
I'm still here and I still hope. Still moving forward even if I have to crawl |
