Iceland, but Aldi is closer.. |
I just got a reply "sorry, you live too close"
There have been numerous threads about how far we would travel,
But what about people nearby?
Is there a distance that is just too close for comfort? |

One of my first fab meets (on old profile several years ago) ... we met socially first at an Indian restaurant. I walked as it was really local to me. Turns out she walked too. We were about 300yds from each other. I soon after moved across town. (This was Malvern at the time).
A couple of years later she moved across town. This meant she was now walking distance away once again...we were good/regular friends by this time. About a year later I moved into the same road....
Since then we have both moved again and are now about 9 miles apart....but still good friends, and her no longer on fab. We have several mutual friends and have met each other’s family (her parents, my sister)
I don’t think it matters how close as long as both parties are open and have nothing to hide. |

I've met a guy who lives across the street from me (unbeknown to us both for a while) but when we realised it was just easier. Wasn't an issue as we both know we're here for fun with like minded adults. Just not a drama for me |

See no problem with that, she obviously wants geographical privacy. |

Met a girl who I knew was very close. Week later I'm queuing behind her in our local chippie. Kinda kills the passion watching a playmate destroy 2 saveloys(not in a fab way). |

I block everyone within a half of a mile and sometimes more- I like to keep my playtime very separate from homelife, hence my preference is to meet at clubs rather than at home |

You were safe from the block list, Phoenix, as you're a whole 3 miles away (plus a forumite!)
I am still suffering the consequences of a few too many local shags over the years and regularly see people in the supermarket or around town which I really dont like |

Umm recently blocked someone who knew the road I lived in - was going to meet then realised to close
I did meet someone who lived a couple of miles away which was ok.
Now I tend to meet people in clubs or hotels in Manchester |

My bump wasn't as awkward, we ignored each other, she was shopping with a friend. |

Yes too close is too close. Lol
I'd have to really fancy the pants of off somebody if they lived less than 10 miles away......Not saying I wouldn't , but I'd have to seriously assess it. |

Wherever, it doesn't matter. I'm having sex with them, nothing weird or embarrassing about that..not sure why so many people wouldn't want to cross paths with someone they slept with really.
Rather prudish some folk..want nothing to do with their own sex lives and to keep it in its own separate locked away bubble so as it shouldn't ever mix with their everyday lives. |

For us, yes.
One of us is reasonably well known round these parts, so whispered gossip about him/her being swingers would be uncomfortable to say the least. |

I'm prudish then. My sex life is private. I won't meet anyone that lives less than 20 minutes drive away, preferably further. |

Would you be ok with someone following you to your daughter's flat and knocking on the door, begging to be let in for sex? |

I don't have a daughter.
And it sounds like you need to overhaul your vetting process if your meeting nutters that do that |

I didn't meet him. We swapped face pics but I decided to not meet him after talking a while.
You can see why some people won't meet local people now though, can't you?

The other week I did meet a couple I’ve played with a few times...in our local Tesco. We said hi, had a laugh, arranged another meet.... keeps it simple! |
