I think some areas have inconvenient opening hours and long waits. Also in a small town you may wish for some discretion. £120 doesn't sound too bad, one private clinic I found locally charged almost £400. |

My local one is an hours drive away. Very inconvenient opening times especially for walk in clinics so I make an appointment for when it's convenient for me!
I have no issues with being seen by anyone. That just seems like an excuse to me.

Some are at health centres for those who want a check up but have no symptoms. If you have symptoms then you'll probably have to go to the hospital gum clinic. |

There’s also an organisation online that will send you a free self test kit through the post, you do the urine and blood test and send it back in a pre paid bag. |

I have done a home test and you have to prick your finger and fill a phial that is about 10ml...the pack gives you 3 sterile click needles and you take the blood from the pads of your fingers...it is easy to produce that much even from one finger |

Our local NHS clinic is brilliant, quick phone call, to book appointment times for us both, they are never more than 10mins over appointment time.
Full check-up including mouth swaps, and automated result service. Fast, free and a bag of goodies on the way out just no Harribo… |

If you're big enough and brave enough to be on a site like this you should also be big and brave enough to do something so fundamental to protect your health and that of your partners. Either pay the £120 or get over it. If it's anything like the NHS place we go to they provide a full range of sexual health services so no one would know exactly why you're there. |

I’ve heard mixed reports about clinics who do mail order testing. Apparently some don’t do all the tests but take the money! How hard is it to tell someone they’re in the clear (which is what they want to hear) without doing all the relevant tests?
Money aside - I’d still feel safer going to a gum clinic or GP practice! X |

Researched ..,, went ... not a private experience as I felt like a cow being dipped, pricked, de horned etc and pushed out the shoot .... due to the numbers two days in a row by 8.30am at the clinic ...,I couldn’t get an appt
so
I too went online and assumed the £120 test kits were the official ones and was rather peeved .... a bit more research and I found the free one however it wasn’t easy ...... kit arrived ... did bloods, swabs ....the lot and received various texts within a few days saying all cleared ....some of us don’t / didn’t know about GUM clinic or free testing kits

I feel the need for a collective, giant eye roll!
If anyone on here feels that's it's embarrassing, they'll be seen and judged or that there is still stigma attached to anything to do with looking after your sexual health then maybe you should rethink what you are doing having casual sex and being on here.
It really is very frightening that people are prepared to take risks with their sexual health and even more scary, that of others!! |

Some clubs also have a roving gum clinic that pops in for a few hours every week during the day to do tests and you then get a text the following week for yay or nay. That is for everything; the three swabs and the stabbing |
