Hiding in the shadows

I work a few evenings a week in a bar.

Get home around midnight & it takes me several hours to unwind & relax (hence my late night forum lurking) pain in the arse when I start my day job at 6am

I've started having a couple of spoons of honey, after a friend recommended it.

No idea if it's a psychological thing, but I've slept better since

Aromatherapy essential oils can help. I've got a pillow spray that contains lavender and chamomile that is excellent.

I originally got it as a freebie at a hotel and sought it out online because it was good.

Google search for "This works:sleep"

It is expensive but worth it. Alternatively you could make your own by putting a few drops of each essential oil in a fine spray bottle filled with water.

You do know you're not supposed to chew Kalms, don't you?!

I find rum is pretty good for helping me to sleep. Failing that, I smash out a massive wank.

Lots of expensive shit advice.

Let me give you my own shit advice.

Rub half a pound of caviar behind each ear. Always works for me.

Now you are talking!

Natural stress release.

Try not to do it on the bus home though.

Sorry I have no advice for you on how to combat it all I can say it that everybody goes through this as our minds and bodies age, you may find you need more power/ cat naps during the day to balance things out for you

Tons of reasons for not sleeping. A lot of them stress and lifestyle related.

Get fresh air every day.

Walk for at least half an hour briskly before bed.

Stay away from stimulants like T.V. for at least two hours before you go.

Don't sit all day on the computer or watching the T.V.

Stay away from stimulants like coffee, tea, booze for at least a couple of hours before bed.

Thoroughly clean a room during the afternoon.

Don't take a bath right before bed. They actually wake you up.

Money worries take a bit longer. Organise your money.

If it's Christmas worries convert to Islam until February.

Keep toxic people out of your life.

Just take care of the simple needs, including yourself

I use a trick my brother taught me and it helps just think of the colour white if anything else pops into your mind make it white

It effectively forces your brain to stop thinking and allows you to sleep
