Anyone stopped using Kodi?
Jump to: Newest in thread
I have been an active user of Kodi for years, as far back as the XBMC days.
But after the shit storm that's being thrown at it, I rarely use it as much these days. Not because of "getting caught", (lol, yeah right), but because of developers deciding to call it a day.
Now I use legal streaming (Netflix, Amazon, etc), but if I want something that's not on them, I use my pre Kodi methods to obtain them.
Now Crimestoppers made an ad, https://youtu.be/yOMwVycIvxQ
I'm just wondering, and not judging. You just have more patience than me. |

Loaded up a mates firestick tonight, most of the good builds ( Ares, Pulse etc ) have gone pretty much permanently i loaded on Titanium which at first glance looked ok, but as another poster said make sure you load a VPN as the ISP's are doing their best to block it |

"I could never get the hang of it, found it seriously un-user friendly. "
Well yes, it was a bit of an ass to set up but there were youtube instructional videos that walked you through it.

We have a nivida shield android box with kodi on but have noticed more buffering lately but still usable. We just tend to watch YouTube for the most recent builds and upload those. Not a clue what a vpn is but if anyone has any tips for better viewing iam all ears |

VPN - Virtual Private Network, basically put it hides your IP address. All UK internet service providers are now doing their best to block Kodi etc so having a VPN will stop the buffering etc to a degree.
If you have an android box you should be able to install a free VPN easily |

"When I uploaded my new build off YouTube a few weeks ago I had to get a pin after from the YouTubers vid. Maybe that was the vpn? "
No mostly thats the developers making sure that genuine users are downloading etc, VPN's wont ask you for a pin, when you try to watch a movie you may get a pop up saying in order to watch this you need ot pair with a pin, if you just cancel it will find another stream etc |

"Yeah I get that message and just press the back button then it works "
Exactly, you can pair if you want but doesnt make a huge difference, Kodi with a decent build is fantastic, and the fact that all the development / coding etc that goes into it is done free is awesome |

I use it, but.
I have a seebox torrent server that auto downloads any tv shows I want to watch in hd 1080p from a private torrent site.
That seedbox then syncs with my home network attached storage.
Kodi is setup to read the NAS so any files added to it auto show up on kodi. My nas also has a plexserver built in, which is nice cause the smart tv has plex built in as an app.
anyway. I just type in a show and there it is. works good for me. |

There's something called 'Jesus TV box premium' or something of that nature as a alternative to kodi. I've just put a new build on my kodi (no limits magic) pretty good so far but still can't figure out this vpn thing |

I use it every day works fine you just have to keep up to date with every thing the apks and builds are Niger and offer more so your box has to be able to cope mind 3gb and 16gb preverably 32gb will avoid buffering you get what you pay for cheap won't work I use nvidea shield my viewing is perfect many complaints about kodi performance is actually due to cheap hardware with insufficient memory to cope with hd and 4 k content |

"We use digibit vpn. £2 a month with unlimited usage on upto 6 devices.
Nvidia Shield too. Don’t have any issues, still running paradox
Ultrasurf is free "
UltraSurf log traffic, block adult content and will pass your internet logs to the government if required.
Not such a good vpn (if that’s what it is). |
