What's it worth?

Have you ever collected anything?

Maybe you got into buying a series of products (pop figures are popular) like beany babies or troll dolls thinking they were going to be worth something today. Are they?

Do you have anything you know is valuable?

Do you think eBay and other auction sites may have de-valued collectibles? (That's a theory).

What have you got in your loft or enjoy showing off on your shelves?

So much crap from holidays that only mean something to me about where I've traveled. I know it's crap, but $1 for a momento, I've got boxes of this stuff.

Started as a little joke 20yrs ago, the Ram is the Derbyshire symbol.

Someone who worked for me bought me a little ceramic figure for my first Christmas in Sussex, and it just went from there.

My children have loads of stuff, my daughter collects Betty boop figures, my youngest son his is Peter Pan figures and my eldest it’s Toy story. Some of them are worth a bit but yes after selling a few collectibles on eBay recently I do think they get devalued x

EBay has killed the collectable market, I used to buy and sell collectable toys from TV and film. I was making so much money at one point that I went to the bank one day and noticed I had nigh on 3 months wages in there that hadn't been touched, most of the price of collectibles was in the hard to find factor, but now they are at the end of your fingertips.

I had a full collection of starwars figures from the late 70's and early 80's, but I sold them in an auction to buy a special trike for a local lad with cerebral palsy, I do miss them but my god you should see the lad go on that trike, some things you can't put a price on

.

First and second editions of various authors. Started when I turned 16 and from then on I always received a collection/set on each of my major birthdays and when I graduated first time and second.

Yes, they are worth something. I don't show them off as such but I am very protective over them.

I collect vinal records and fantasy fiction books illustrated by certain artists.

I don't really care if places like eBay have devalued them slightly. It makes them cheaper for me to acquire. I collect them for my own pleasure and they aren't for sale.

I occasionally spot the value of a book or record I own and am very pleasantly surprised.

I think in a lot of cases, having so many people able to bid on something helps to achieve a reasonable price.

Quality always holds its value and if you're buying for investment, don't follow fads and fashion. There prices will fluctuate the most as they fall out of favour and something else takes its place.
