So few days ago we had a favourite classical music thread.

I'm having a very lazy Saturday with jazz music and it's blissful.

Etta James ~ Stormy weather seems appt for today .

So who or what is you favourite Jazz singer or piece of music.

Gregory Porter

Such an amazingly powerful and in some ways calming voice. Amazing live too

Miles Davis, his late 50s-early 60s stuff. The guy was a musical genius.

He's currently my favourite ' new' jazz voice. I know he's been around for a few years. I've added most of his albums to my play list .

To play? I'm a saxophonist so I like getting the alto out occasionally and getting my Charlie Parker on. To listen to? Lots, but the one I come back to most often is Ella Fitzgerald. Clichéd I know, but her voice is the aural equivalent of honey and I find it ridiculously soothing.
