I was at school so the music yes, everything else ... hmmmm "
Oh some of the music was the best that has ever come out of Britain ...... but some of the worst ever made no.1 - cringe
that's why I asked |

Here and There |
"Brings back some memories
Some involving cider! Was years before I could touch the stuff.
I did a bit of alcohol when I was 15 "
There wasn’t much else to do in N Ireland in the early 80s
The bizarre thing, looking back, is I used to buy it aged 13/14 - because I was the tallest
I don’t think I was fooling anyone |

There was some good stuff in the early 80s, admittedly some real diabolical trash too, I reckon 1984 was last year of decent music, downhill from there... I mean look at the stuff today???? |

Luckily I don't ... my extensive music collection has everything from classical to country, loads of 80s, some 90s, but I don't think there's anything after 2000 apart for new stuff released by my fave 80s bands |

I remember 1981 and can say it was the year it all kicked off. Mass unemployment, racial tensions and riots in major cities - Brixton, Toxeth, Chapeltown and Handsworth.
The Specials summed it up - "This place is like a ghost town."
While Duran Duran were swanning around on yachts in Brazil. |

"75-85 - the very best (& worst) of British music
I almost agree ... 78-89
that's stretching it
That's strange given we are the same age "
perhaps I appreciate the 'golden oldies' more! |

"Basically there's always gonna be a load of pop chart maufactured dross that is here today & gone tomorrow kinda stuff, but true talent will always shine through. It's just a matter of finding it " that's why I said both best & worst, - pop has always been crappie - & still is |
