"I was sorting my garage out today and found a flower press that i had put some of my wedding flowers in 28 years ago "
What a lovely thing to have found and not surprised it made you smile - certainly had that effect on me (which was much needed so thank you ) |

A friend whom I haven't heard from in a while, messaged me with a very witty mail...
She is as mad as a box of frogs but always raises a smile..(admittedly, it's not the only thing she gets to raise.. ) |

What made me smile today is the fact that I'm right where I want to be, no money worries, the freedom to do anything I want when I choose and with whom I choose.
The job I have is the best and I have the best most loyal friends I could hope to have.
If that isn't awesome, I don't really know what else is. |

I tend to leave things in between the pages of the book I'm reading, which can make for an interesting suprise.
I pick up a book I haven't read in years, and a boarding pass for a flight to Hong Kong or Havana falls out, or a train ticket, from when I lived in bath and took a trip to Edinburgh.
I once bought a second hand paperback of George Orwell's Homage To Catalonia, and, when I got it home, a postcard fell out. It was written by an English chap, probably about the same age as me, at the time, writing from a Spanish hospital. He had been wounded fighting in the civil ear and was writing to his parents to say he was ok.
That made me smile. |

"I’m taking a few days off work and watching old episodes of The Two Ronnies. "
Xmas repeats.
Probably - morcambe & wise on also.
Not that we’ve seen some of it before for like the umpteenth time. |

Well why wouldn’t it ?

Our son has to work one day a week in an Old Folks home for part of his college course, and he's became a good friend to and old man there. We have invited him to come for xmas lunch at our home and yesterday when we went to pick son up from the home, the old guy had wrote us a thank you poem, which I thought was a lovely thing to do . Made me smile anyway |

I have been in here for 4 years now
Since my Florence passed away
Although I'm well looked after
I still miss her everyday
Xmas is really sad these days
Now I'm on my own
So thank you oh so much
For the invite to your Home
Its really very kind of you, the home say I'm allowed
And in Brandon you have a Son, who must make you very proud
In the short space I have known him
And the time we get to spend
I know I have met a lovely boy
I'm proud to have my friend
Merry Christmas love Gerald
