My mobile phone contract is due for renewal and i'm eagerly awaiting my new smartphone. This got me to thinking....
Do you remember back in the 80's people in business suits carrying around 'mobiles' that had what looked like a land line receiver attached by a long cord to a box the size of a small picnic basket? Surely this would never catch on.
Or the tiny, flickering, monochromatic monitors of computers in computer studies at school and having to type in to them endless reams of nonsensical characters? A waste of time thought i.
