Any other wild campers out there? (Just realised that could be taken so many different ways)

"Any other wild campers out there? (Just realised that could be taken so many different ways)"

Used to do this with my kids when they were actually kids.

Camping nowadays isn't real camping. Its setting up a tent on a caravan site.

You can't beat clearing an area in the woods and building a real fire and a lean to shelter with no one else and no light pollution for miles around.

I love that in Scotland wild camping is legal, not that I've been put off wild camping due to legalities in the rest of the Uk.

Going to have to get my bivvy bag out more often next year and disappear into the hills.

Up north in the Highlands, just pitching where ever you feel is a good spot....and there are LOTS...feels like another world. A couple of weeks just driving around the Lochs and Mountains and be back to nature....refreshes the mind and soul.

I'm with you there, some of the best nights sleep I've ever had have been in my bivvy bag, miles from anywhere , waking with the dawn to a glorious bit of scenery.

a quandary, could you change my mind?

More and more places are putting up signs in England "no motor caravan" between certain times. Although reading through some information any penalty charge given is not allowed as a very large number of motor caravans are not classified as such.

We should have a Fab camper van / motorhome meet.

I know swingfields happens but more like a select few meeting up would be fun and cheaper.

I take the kids wild camping in the new forest .Although you can't pitch anywhere, it's illegal. You must use legal spots. Some having facilities(not so wild) others no facilities (wildish).
