Iceland, but Aldi is closer..

Others have mentioned honey, but you can't believe the wonder that is that sweet sticky stuff.

It's antiseptic properties are second to none and a few teaspoonfuls a day will help that sore throat. Honey and lemon drinks are good as it has the added vitamin C, do make it honey rich.

Paracetamol for your temperature, make sure you don't exceed the recommended dosage and a decongestant such as sudofed, make sure it's not sudofed plus which contains paracetamol (and is more expensive than buying paracetamol and sudofed separately)

Hope you get well soon and it doesn't turn into full blown man flu..

All you need to take is paracetamol and tea or coffee, interesting article about what to take on BBC a few weeks ago, no need for expensive "nightnurse" or "flu" type products.

Vitamins (esp c d and b12), eucalyptus oil or olbas oil on pillow and tissues to clear sinuses, hot lemon drink (whisky, lemon, honey, ginger) to soothe throat and clear chest.

Lots of sleep and fluids.

Raw garlic, if you ate it regularly then you wouldn't have a cold in the first place. Also fends off vampires.

4 pints of 'No 3' and a steaming hot curry used to be the cure for most ills in student days. Oh to be young and foolish again

Make a lemsip, pop a shot of whiskey in.

Repeat.

Layer up in bed and sweat it out.

Tried and tested, many times!

Hot toddy, made up of half a mug of whiskey, rum, or brandy. Mix in a lemsip powder, add some honey and hot water. Drink at bedtime and you'll sleep like a log and you'll sweat it out.

Really hoping it works for me tonight.

a quandary, could you change my mind?

Night nurse. They did a tablet form which was great couple of those and some of the liquid, perfect.

But obviously make sure you are only ever taking the correct dose

Central

Zinc, if taken early in the infection, can shorten the duration and lower the infections intensity.

Otherwise, take the generic constituents of cold symptom remedies, according to how you are - never exceeding maximum daily allowances.

Rest and stay warm.
