Fred recently asked me how much I've spent on Lego this Christmas and I was a little shocked when I realised it was just shy of £1k

I'm sure your Grandson will love it though.

We have gone a bit OTT this year, but Santa isn't getting the credit for the Lego this year

If you google Lepin, you'll see. It's really good quality - hard to tell the difference. Sometimes takes a while to arrive though.

Go to legoland at Windsor,

There's loads just laying around, help yourself... far cheaper, especially if you break in at night...

A few of my friends bought the Disney castle when it was released, at over £300 for one item it’s a tad expensive x

£110 for legs

What's it all coming to, Lego Technics used to be about £15 and you'd get the absolute shit for that (as in really good)

I added up all the Lego I had as a child at today’s prices, I reckon I’ve got about £4000 worth !!!!! Loved it as a youngster. Kept it all for my boy who loves it to I’m glad to say

"the death star is around £700 "

That'll be an older version, the current one is £400, we got it on offer for £320. Smyths are currently advertising it for £299.99 it's out of stock everywhere but available for back order from their Irish stores, but don't know if they'll honour the promotional price.

We've been tempted by it for years and not seen it so cheap before.

I'd have been better off buying shares in Lego, years back we worked out that we'd spent £4k on Stars Wars Lego but I'm not sure what we've spent in total.

Essex.

Investment wise, Lego special sets (Star Wars, Indiana Jones etc) have over the last 10- 20 years seen a better return than stocks and shares.

Obviously that is for unopened mint boxes...

Lego in itself is expensive, couple that with a big name the the cost spirals.
