I’ve done it twice. The 2nd time it was only 10 months after the first so could have been excused. Having never been in a court room before I found the whole experience fascinating so really enjoyed the opportunity of doing it for a second time.
My first time I was a week in, having not been chosen yet and got on a 3 week trial so in total I was there for a month. Second time I was chosen for 2 trials. First one got thrown out by the judge after an hour due to lack prosecution evidence around the identity of the defendant and then I got a 4 day trial for my second case.
Even though I would miss out financially, I’d jump at the chance to do it again |

I've not done jury service but very similar in the military courts, it was fascinating and harrowing in equal measure. But overall a great experience.

Done it twice ( D), first time got a big fraud case which lasted 10 weeks, second time just 2 weeks. First one got boring eventually but the second one we all agreed the verdict and were out of the jury room within an hour  |

I don't think I'd mind actually doing the jury service but having to find a different smart outfit to wear, every day for several weeks must be a hell of a chore.
I see a gap in the market here.A discount clothes store near the courthouse. This time next year I'll be a millionaire.

Two weeks is standard, sat around for three days then the case lasted the rest of the time. Most cases only last a few days. But in theory you could be there for weeks.

I've never done it either, but my mate did back in the 90's in a causing death by dangerous driving case. It was a unanimous guilty decision. I suppose some cases are more intellectually challenging than others? |
