"I’ve put myself as a social drinker......but I do socialise a lot! "
. I enjoy a drink, if I have a drink in the week it will be just one, and sober for October was easier than everyone thought. I could never go sober forever though, beers nice, spirits are not really my thing. |

"Out of curiosity has anyone listed themselves as regular drinkers or are we all just closet pissheads"
I drink once or twice a week or if I go out so I definitely think I can class myself a "social" drinker |

"Well, you're out of the closet now!
Yeah I let the closet door hit my arse on the way out there didn’t I "
I put four bottles of ale in the trolley every week. Some nights I'll drink a whole one, some nights I'll drink half and then put the lid back on and finish it the next evening. Probably go to the pub 2 or 3 times a month but haven't been for a while now as I'm busy with work.
Looking forward to letting my hair down over Christmas though |

I hardly drink and if i go out i take car and drinking soft drinks doesn't bother me .I could live with out alcohol .
If someone wakes up and wants a alcoholic drink this person id class as a regular drinker who may have problems .one of my friends was like that and it took hold of her . |

I drink about 3 Times a week that’s probably a regular drinker but I don’t need to drink- I went to the attic Saturday night and drove, often I prefer not to drink for meets so I can keep my wits about me. Yes I have been d*unk In a club before- on 2 occasions, both times with others sharing their spirits, hence I won’t do that now, I’ll ever not drink or take a small bottle so I can control it better
So social drinker it is. |

I was drinking wine about 3 times a week which is more regular than I'd like!
So I've stopped for a bit to prove to myself I'm not an alcoholic
And to make room for the millions of Xmas drinkies I'm destined to have |

I think even if you go out every weekend then that’s regular drinking.
Regular doesn’t necessarily equate to large amounts either.
If someone has a single measure of whisky every night that’s 7 units a week, but I know several people who will get through 3 bottles of wine during the week. Maybe one with food through the week and two more bottles over the weekend with family and friends. That’s 30 units.
The whisky drinker would be classed as a regular drinker which sounds worse than social drinker, but the wine drinker is taking in much more.
I don’t think I’ve actually ever seen anyone listed as regular drinker on here |

Cheers Jim
I think many people are in denial about their drinking and are embarrassed.
I really enjoy a pint or two after training twice a week and once a month letting my hair down on a weekend.
I do this regularly... hence regular drinker.

I only tend to drink if going to football or a night at club
If at club a 4 pack that is about 3 units,
If at football it can range from 1 unit to a hell of a lot more depending if it is away game or not
I don’t drink during the week or at home.

"Recoving alcohol sober 15mths, once you break the chain keep it broken "
Well done. Keep up the good work. It's more comfortable on the wagon!!!
I drink very rarely as I tend to have to drive. I work in a bar and see how people get when they can't handle their drink. It's very embarrassing.
If I go out, which is usually once every couple of months I do like to let my hair down and drink over the recommended amount. I don't suffer hangovers so what the hell! |

I will drink if I go to London for a night out or walk to a friends house but usually I am driving and don't drink at all.
When I do drink I won't drink to excess, maybe a couple of glasses of wine or a few shots of spirits in a night.... I can't cope with the headache the next day.
Definitely consider myself a social drinker. |

No harm in that you know you have issues when your local missus use services ensures you drink alone at home being as you can't control you're own safety goes for men too. It does limit who I can meet, it's not their fault.
I'm more like the local pop shop now and cheaper |
