"Yes, an age range is a bit arbitrary - when you get to your 40s then a year or two either way makes no difference."
It does to those setting the preference, I’ve been a year out quite a few times when I’ve read a profile and thought I’d be suitable. |

Nope because people usually stretch their age range to the possible highest anyway so even if I was only just in the range I may not be what they are looking for |

I didn't think you could tell how far out of their age range you were, just that you were out of their age range.
Therefore how would you know you are out by a year or two? Because you're only a year or two off their age? Not everyone wants to meet people their own age. I wouldn't meet a man my age, I just don't find them remotely attractive. 15-20 years older or more, yes. Something about old and wrinkly for me. |

That's what we are trying to say. Surely age is just a number"
I'm sure most wouldn't be rude about it. Maybe worth a message and just say you know your just out their range but wanted to say hi. If it's deleted at least you know then. |

If they have a filter in then u can't message, even if u are a year out |

Apologies I thought you were just meaning the preference on the profile. That sucks then |
