"Iv one but thinking of more ??
Whats your opinion guys and girls like them or now ??? "
We have a small number of tatts between us so, unsurprisingly, we're very happy to see them on others. Actually, we've found them to be a good ice-breaker topic of conversation when meeting someone for the first time. |

"thinking of getting my first tatt in the next year or 2
and it aint gonna be discrete "
Don't be offended, but may I suggest you check the difference between 'discrete' and 'discreet' before sauntering down to the parlour and nonchalantly telling them what you want. |

I dont mind seeing small tasteful ones here and there but as for tribal/Arabic stuff..well, fine on a Maori warrior..but on your average white skinned Subaru driving gold toothed chav?..nah!!
Same goes for chinese shit...why?..do the chinese have pictures of King Afthur on their backs?
Stars in a line around the ear.neck...how original
'Cheryl Coles autograph' on the underside of the hand..even less original..boring.
Having them done to 'look ard'..nah..
Sleeves...they would look lovely with a ball gown wouldnt they..
Red Indian 'guides'???...WFT!!??
There is no doubt some are absolute works of art and the people who do them are talented..Strictly IMHO I feel small tastefull ones or ones that actually mean something personal to the wearer are fine...as for the others...nah.
Having 'ink done' purely because they are fashionable has got to be the worst reason of all...think long and hard first. |

Though 'it aint gonna be discrete' is technically correct. Unless the tatts going to be put on a dismembered arm of course, in which case 'it is going to be discrete' |

that chinese shit u mention could also be japanese Kanji which is really nice and can have deep meaning for those wearing em. i had one translated for me which is always an option for a tatt down the line |

I hate to show my ignorance and make it really obvious that I'm not an active participant in 'popular culture', but please please please tell me that 'Cheryl Coles autograph' was an example of the kind of thing which someone might consider, not something anyone has actually done.
Please, I beseech you. |

Mmmm...I have never been beeeched before!!..lol
Im talking about that scribble that women seem obliged to have done on the underside of their hand...all in the name of being individual...takes me back to the punk era, when punks dressed the way they did to look different..the trouble was they all did it and it became a uniform. |

I Love tattoos on both men & women....only as though they are decent inks & not a crappy Tweety-Pie or Mum/Dad that looks like it's been done with a blue biro by a guy recovering from a hangover. |

I have quite a few. My back piece is due to be finished in October. Funds permitting now I don't have a job!
I'm also chatting to a guy that does the traditional hand tapping tatau. I would really love one done that way. I just need to find a design. |

Love well done ink on both men and women.
Have one myself, just over 2ft long running down my right side, from boob to lower thigh. Want another, but I'm still working on the design. It's gotta be right 'cos it's for life! |

I would show you, but it is very distinctive and would easily identify me. Had a pic of it in 2 tattoo mags in 2010. It's full colour, hurt like a b*tch on the ribs (which was strangely enjoyable) and I wouldn't be without it.
I especially like it when a Lady runs her tongue along the outline |

When not done to excess i think they are great.
I (mr games) have a small dragon symbolising 'strength and wisdom' gained through life experience on my right calve muscle. Would like more but each needs a meaning and i think on anyone those are the most tastefull.
Like has been mentioned i think they make a great ice breaker for people too. |

i thought the point of the traditional hand tapped ones was that the design finds you, each part of the design is to reflect your personality etc
i was watching a Miami Ink episode and Ami and Garber went to Hawaii to do some tattooing and they got traditional hand tapped tattoos. the guy that did them spent time talking to them and asked each of them to describe the other so he could design the right tattoo for them |

having done a little research into this it depends how far back in the tradition you go and which culture for example haida started of with "lifelines" that were nothing more than varying geometric shapes and lines following the contours of the body and musculature then evolved into animal worship as long as the person recieving it is happy its all good |

I too thought no way when I was younger now I have tats. Mine are very personal to me, drawn by me and get alot of attention becaue they suit me.
One can appear in photos the other can not, and it's not because it identifies me, more it's to peronal to me so stays private.
I cant wait until next year when I can have my tattoo extended and the new initial added :D |

Just to clarify, Guys and Girls, I'm not embarrassed about being on here. BUT pictures of my Ink and more personal details about myself, my Family and why I had it done, etc. are easily available on the Net and I simply wish to remain private about my private activities, lol. Only those I want to know, do know and I'd like to keep it that way.
