So after much debate I bought a Christmas tree. Its 6ft tall. This is the first time I've bought one (I had one back home but it was a hand me down)
Now how the hell do you decide what decorations to buy?!? Should I stick to a colour theme?! How many do I need?!
How do you go about decorating for Christmas? No you use the same every year? Can you resist the temptation to buy more?
Do you go all out and decorate the exterior of your house too?
Or do you not decorate at all?! Are you a bit bah humbug about it all?

I don't know what your supposed to do so I let my Daughter get on with it. That is if she's still talking to me.
She's been singing Christmas songs such as Wham and Mariah Carey since bonfire night and I still refuse to get the tree out the loft.
But yeah if you got kids, let them fuck it up. |

I've had my Christmas decorations for years, a little tradition I have is to buy one or two new ones each year.
I tend to have a colour theme with a twist. I have no idea how many decs I put on I stop when I think yep that looks good.
I like to have lots of bright white lights on the tree and then place key pieces next to them for sparkle and reflections.

We have a mixture of decorations that we’ve collected over the years that have special meanings. So our tree doesn’t match colours but it’s up for my son and he enjoys decorating it. For me I’d love to stick to a colour theme as they look very nice x |

I buy a real tree ( I will not buy an 8 foot monster again this year ) and there are no theme to my decorations, although the sparklier, the better!
The kids start decorating the tree, get bored, wander off and I then rearrange it |

I like traditional red and golds on a nice green tree
I see lists of others trees like tinsel trees, snowy trees etc done up in silvers pinks blues etc that even when well done just look cheap tacky to me |

You’ll be surprised. It’s really nice to come home to! Take off the house lights and just leave on the lights of the tree! Warm cosy atmosphere 
My tree has all coloured ornaments from friends and from different countries that I’ve collected over the years. So, decorating reminds me of good times and people I love.
I always have a putting up the tree party too, my friends come round, nibbles, drinks, carols, decorating and trying to get over my p.o.p.d.  |

I only bought my xmas tree last year, after moving into my own place.
The choice of colour for my tree decorations match my decor as did my wrapping paper (although a little ocd with matching). The colour will change as and when I decide to redecorate.
I dont decorate outside. |

I'm buying a real one for the first time this year - decorating it with pieces I have been given over the years and lots of little off white lights. I try to make sure every piece has a memory attached to it as wanky as that sounds, so if I go abroad I make sure I buy a little something etc. |

I have a 6ft artificial tree, I used to have a real trees but my rabbit (real life floppy eared kind) kept eating them.
I have individual decorations, a lot of them glass and soft glow white lights ...... hundreds of them
All our decorations mean something to us and when we decorate the tree they are a reminder of people, places and special times.
This year I will be including a glass decoration with a memory inside it which is about a person I loved very much. It’s a happy memory that always made us laugh.
Christmas is my favourite time of year.

We will have to get a new tree this year as the old one (which lives in the garden the rest of the year) after 10 yrs is now too big to get in the house 
The plan is to dig it permanently in the ground and get a smaller one in a pot and start again. they are in asda for £20 so £2 per year its good value and good for the environment  |

I have a little black two & a half foot tree that I've had for five years. For the last two years it's been a mish mash of Halloween baubles, a giant pink snowflake topper and multicoloured lights. This year it's a silver sparkly angel, purple and teal baubles (both more in proportion than my old decorations ) purple lights and silver beads, with a blue net light in the shape of a gift which flashes different colours, a little silver shiny reindeer tea light holder and a couple of snow globes underneath. |

Haven't had a tree for a few years as not that keen on Christmas anymore , when the kids were smaller used to always get a real tree and it would be decorated from top to bottom with decorations bought from the Disney Christmas shop in Florida |
