when you read about a situation that has happened from a person impacted, do you consider any other person that may have been involved... or do you make your mind up.
I have found that most times, there are usually 3 sides to any story... the authors, the other persons and the truth sits somewhere between both versions.
Do you consider or just dive right in...
Or steer clear. |

I'm pretty fair minded. Truth and fair hearings are important to me.
I listen and think. I never jump in or back people without knowing the other side.
I learn quickly who to steer clear of.
The unreasonable types who will say anything - like a child - simply to have a last word.
Guess it depends on the calibre of the person i'm listening to really View x |

I find that as I grow older, with more work and life experience, I am less quick to judge, and am prepared to _iew a situation from as many perspectives as possible before forming an opinion.

Almost always never jump to a knee jerk reaction....there is like you say...three versions of the truth...
When I was younger..I`d rush into judgement on what I was hearing..only to look foolish sometime after..I`m a little wiser these days ..mabye...
Its the things that aren`t said, that can be the more revealing...
Sometimes I just avoid..its best fer my peace of mind.. |

Great question (especially in light of some of the threads one reads on here).
I think Granny has nailed it for me, Pearls comment around life experience also rings true. |

When we were both younger we said we use to jump in without hearing the fully story.
As we have got older we tend to listen more and also ask a lot more questions. This tends to help us a lot as we have two kids at home who constantly argue and fight... but asking more questions the truth tends to come out. |

I'm naturally argumentative, erm a natural debater, so I always try to see the other side.
depending on situation I may well try to give another opinion, those whoo know me realise I'm simply trying to help. |

I think its very easy to just jump in without really thinking about different sides to a situation,Rob is more of an instant reaction type of person whereas I think a bit before I make my mind up about anything
Nothing is as ever clear cut as it may seem at first glance |

this is essentially the heart of the timewaster debate...
'did he really break down on the way to meet me... ' ? i bet he never even left home.... etc
peoples attitudes to a story tend to become tainted over time by their own experience. (hence the popularity these days of CBT - trying to re-train the brain to default to looking for another plausible explanation)
it takes a strong character to take each situation on its individual merit every time and not rush to judgement... so whilst i endeavour to look for the second and third side, i know sometimes in truth i dont.
