"Sloe gin "

... flavouring spirits is cheating ... still tastes nice though ... especially if you can leave it mature for 7 years or more

"Might give cider or mead a go next year.. "

cider is so easy ... just press the juice and put it into a sterilised tub with and air lock ... no need to add anything at all

Birmingham

Haven't made a homebrew for ages. Used make lager and bitter. Brew them in the buckets and then transfer to barrels when ready, then leave it to settle and then add the gas.

You can keep gin and spirits for a long time but the flavour definitely won’t improve after 7 years. Wines, some dark beers, whiskies etc will.

Iceland, but Aldi is closer..

Have a ginger plant fermenting ready to make some batches of ginger beer..

Need to remember to release the gas pressure regularly so the bottles don't explode this year..

It made quite a mess last time.

Durham Tees

I'm in the Estella camp, making Sloe Gin and Bramble Whisky.

I do have some home brew equipment stored away but I haven't used it in about 30 years.
