I'm gearing up for a trip from Bristol to Edinburgh. I usually fly which takes just over an hour.

I've been considering travelling by train. I quite like watching the world go by although the journey does take 6/7 hours.

The other option is to drive. Again the journey would take 6/7 hours BUT I could go via anywhere en route and hang out with some of the out of reach fabsters Ive been chatting to.

What would you choose and why? Do you have a favourite mode of transport?

I'd drive as like you can go off and see people en-route and take my time.

Have a safe trip xx

This happened to me once after a dirty weekend. I was a tad uncomfortable trying to sit down so to then be harassed was horrific.

No way you can drive it in 6 or 7 hours. I've tried in the past.

Train costs a fortune.

Fly. It's quicker and more time for fun when you get there.

Drive. I love driving for road trips, long distance especially when you get to see landscape changes through the country. I've never been to Scotland, It's on my todo list.

Drive. Whilst at uni I would do Herts to Aberdeen quite often and it was always really enjoyable and lovely. I did stop halfwayish overnight though!

The south East is gorgeous this time of year and a nice 5 hour drive...the way the landscape changes fromm the m25 to the m6 is breathtaking....

NW London

I'd just drive it, I enjoy a good road trip. I'd get bored on the train and flying is probably just as long by the time you factor in travelling between airports, waiting times, customs etc.

Plus you could pass the time by swearing at other motorists....

I used to get the train from Cumbria to Bristol frequently, the first bit to Manchester was okay and picturesque in places and then I'd get bored, and the toilets were frequently grim and unusable after they were flooded on the 8am train I went back to flying home.
