Love Graham Linehan's previous work, The IT Crowd, Father Ted, Black Books but Motherland! Anybody else think it's just neurotic Knotting Hill wannabe cack?

Must admitt I rather enjoy it. Reminds me of the parent's community when our two were in primary school.

I thought it wasn’t bad, highly exaggerated but all those characters do exist...lurking at the school gates in the X5 & A7....taking up the space of 3 cars

Yeah, okay, exaggeration!, I grudgingly see it now but why are all the characters specific "types", as if to tick demographic box.

Yeah, okay, exaggeration!, I grudgingly see it now but why are all the characters specific "types", as if to tick demographic box. "

Because if the characters we less distinct and more normal, there would be less comedy value.

Because sadly society loves a tick box...to make sense of who they think they can associate with.

Personally I wasn’t a gate lurker and couldn’t even begin to know any of the parents names!

Okay, but the show feels like it want through numerous committee stages, membered by the type of people portrayed in the programme!
