"also depends on which area you are staying in...no point wasting time travelling too far
It's a day trip "
oh sorry missed that...well then you definitely need to avoid too much travelling..thats what will eat up time!
how about the science museum, should cover at least a couple of your interests and there are about 4 different museums a few minutes walk from each other if you were interested in any of them..

The Natural History and Science museums would probably be right up your street. For movies and shows, The West End.Some good bars and restaurants in Soho, Carnaby and Camden.
A river cruise down to the Thames Barrier is usually pretty good too, with tour guides who inform and make you laugh.Last time I was there, there was a cable car across the river down by The 02 arena.that was fun.
Enjoy.

There and to the left a bit |
Seeside if you only have a day - then the Natural History Museum and Science Museums are right up your street and would probably full your day - they're pretty much next door to each other too so no extra hassles of travelling between them.
Failing that the London Transport Museum already suggested would be good - is more about the London Underground and buses but obviously has an element of steam trains to it from the early days of the underground.
Other than that can recommend the Tower Bridge Experience where you can still see the steam engines used to raise the bridge and take a walk between the towers at the upper level.
Kings Cross station itself is worth a quick visit if you come into St Pancras and like trains generally - is pretty impressive now they've done it up |

London isn't that big and really easy to get around by foot or public transport..
Do the museums, science and natural history are next to each other with the V&A across the road.. those are a good day taken up..
London Eye is good but as good views can be got for far less..
Go to the walkey talkey building or the bar at Tower 42 or the shard. All have to be booked but you can get in for free, get a drink (maybe a little overpriced) but you have a view and a drink and are still quids in.

I think London is much better by foot, we rarely use the tube now. We quite often just wander round and see what we come across.
I like to go to Fortnum & Mason, the window is always really well decorated, and their cakes are amazing and not too expensive either. |

The area around Southwark is very cool and historic. It's worth visiting Borough Market for some good street food then take a walk down the river towards London Bridge and Tower of London.
For an amazing (and free) view of the city book in advance the sky garden at the Walkie Talkie building |

Download one of the apps to help you navigate London or use google maps on your phone.
Travel by bus as you’ll see more and it doesn’t take that much longer than the tube.
You can use your contactless bank card for the tube and bus as well. |
