When Bonfire night is over.

I start buying presents in September though, because I hate carrying loads of bags around.

Car parks rammed with people who have turned in to ungracious selfish lunatics who then maraud through the supermarkets like a swarm of locusts hoovering up everything in sight as if they've heard that the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse have just hove into view!

I'm sorry but it's still November. Not Christmas until 12 days before. Hence 12 days of Christmas .

Actually if you’re being pedantic - the first day of Christmas is Christmas Day - the 12 day of Christmas is Jan 5th - which is why, according to tradition, trees must be taken down by then!

So why do they say to put your tree up 12 days before and take then down 12 days after ?

Years ago when i was a kid it would be when the tree went up at home which was a week before xmas. Then it became two weeks before, now as an adult im putting it up in November. Even the cola lorry advert gets earlier every year. It never used to appear on our screens until a few days before xmas.
