Firstly do people believe in hauntings and Ghosts?
And has anyone experienced them?
I grew up in a house with strange happenings and a black entity appearing at times with a feeling of intense sadness with it. Shortly afterwards family members would end up with bad news surrounding their health.

Aye. Saw a ghost walk through my neighbours living room when I was eight. My mum thinks it was the woman who lived there, whose funeral it was that day. Personally I don't believe that, because she was wearing 20s style clothing |

Unless I see one for myself and I know 100% that it wasn't a trick of the light or the effects of sleep deprivation or whatever then I won't believe it. My dad always claimed he saw one in the woods near where he grew up. Last year when my dad died I found myself in the days following going against my beliefs and hoping that they were real and he would somehow be able to show that he was still there, but nothing so I remain as sceptical as ever. |

No scientific evidence whatsoever, just the furtive imagination of people who either can't come to terms of mortality or trying to con other gullible people out of money |

Why does there have to be scientific explanations? And it's strange how many children see people who aren't there. Maybe imaginary friends at times are spirits, may be not |

Because science is proof. That's why science and religion don't get along |

What I'm saying is a lot of things out their for millennia evade a scientific reasoning, gravity, earth not being the centre of the solar system, flight.
Just because something isn't proved scientifically doesn't equate to it not being possible or real. |

"Worcester has a quite a few haunted buildings and one being a bear
A bear now that's interesting "
Yeah supposedly as I have never seen it but the men of the cloth who were at the Cathedral kept a big brown bear as a guard to the back of the cathedral and there is an old cobble street I think it's called college way by it and people have said they've heard roars and seen a bear moving up and down the road and one person said it reared up on it back legs to its full height and swiped at them but as it did it disappeared |

So things didn’t fall down before Newton? (He put a mathematical explanation to it...he didn’t discover it). Birds couldn’t fly before the Wright Brothers? The ancient Egyptians knew the Earth wasn’t at the centre.....but then some idiot Greeks got it wrong later....
As with UFOs being intelligent extra terrestrial life....there isn't and has never been a single credible shred of evidence for the existence of ghosts. |

I think it's unlikely that an apparent personality based upon our brains neurology, life experiences etc could exist when that brain dies. As such, I perceive it as even less likely that something like what is thought to be a ghost is in any way someone's personality, other than the person who views and experiences it.
Our minds are the most likely source of what we perceive outside of us as a ghost Imo. |

I believe in "stone tape" hauntings, which basically means ghosts and haunting are analogous to tape recordings, so emotional or traumatic events are "stored" in the environment.
Intelligent ghosts such as poltergeists and the like I find hard to believe in. |
