Doubt he'll be in any new films and don't think he's in any of my classic favourites.

I'll never watch American Beauty in the same light, especially that scene where it looks like he's being sucked off by the young boy.

Glitter did a great Christmas song (rock n rollin Christmas) you'd be singing along to it on the radio in the next few weeks if everyone didn't agree to boycott him. (And correctly so).

I have the the song on a complication. I skip it.

Absolutely i will because I'm not an immature idiot who idolises artists and assumes that because they can sing / act / paint / write then they must somehow be a wonderful person. On the contrary, anyone that good at anything is probably going to be a weirdo. Never meet your heros.

Perhaps it would just be easier to list all the flawless people in the world and we can then derive a list of films and songs from that list that are ok to listen to. Shouldn't take long...

I always sensed that Jimmy Saville was a wrong 'un but I'm still shocked about Rolf Harris!!!

Then again look at his songs ; 'Two Little Boys' 'Tie my Kangaroo Down' 'Jake the Peg with the Extra Leg'.

The evidence was all there!

He's a little bit more than a cunt though isn't he! It was no small misdemeanour he was jailed for! Arranging for children, very young children, to be sexually assaulted is not something to be taken lightly.

I think if we boycotted every person found guilty/accused of something or the other our tv's would be off and our radios silent.

I loved Usual Suspects and will watch it again whether he's guilty as charged or not. I suspect many on this thread will watch/listen to their "fallen heros" too, but it looks good to take the moral high ground on an internet forum and state otherwise.

The moral high ground on a swingers site? Everyone is a judge anyhoos so do what you like, personally I’ve not listened to lost prophets since and even though I’m a fan of Kevin spaceys acting his misdemeanours are alarming and I don’t think I could watch the any of his films without being sidetracked.... side note, Tom Cruise and Scientology, that’s fucked up but I will still watch those films, in the end I don’t know, sorry what was the question

So what? If i tried to find music by a singer i actually agreed with on very much then I'd have about 5 tracks i could listen to. Do you understand that listening to a song or watching a movie is not forming a political affiliation with the artist? I don't know why you would assume any of them were decent human beings before the news broke. It all reeks of teenager obsessive mentality where you listened to the lyrics on repeat and pondered their deeper meaning because you felt the writer 'really got you'. Utter bollucks. If it sounds good, listen to it.

you don't half talk some bollocks just to have an argument! good to know you are happy to perpetuate the 'celebrity' of a convicted paedophile. A man who used the exact same fame to his advantage whilst carrying out his crime. Although i guess you are now going to tell me you dont buy in to celebrity culture, you just listen to what you like.

I am not sure (although i guess you will tell me) how royalties etc work when people are in prison but if he does get financial benefit from any purchase or play of any music he is attributed to then yes, you are forming an allegiance with him. you are saying it is ok for him to arrange for children to be assaulted for his sexual perversion because...hey, he makes good music! all is forgiven because he can put some notes in an order that you like.

Sometimes life is not all about you. Sometimes you have to look at the bigger picture and Ian Watkins' picture is a particularly abhorent one.

I am not stupid enough to believe that everyone in the public eye is a saint and can do no wrong. Recent years have proved beyond doubt that they aren't but i dont understand why you would say that i do simply because i think it is not ok to listen to the songs of a man convicted of what Ian Watkins has done? but hey....paedophillia is a-ok in your book so long as you write a banging tune!

You say i am talking bollucks but your central arguement is that you must agree with paedophillia if you listen to music by a paedophile. I don't feel a need to point out the flaws in that logic to the average reasonably intelligent reader of the forum.

Yup bono and geldof are hypocrites.

Pretty sure they could give some of their millions to the charities and make a difference.

Live aid hasn’t made a HUGE difference, I mean live aid was 1985 (I think).

even now when you see a reporter over in somewhere like Ethiopia it’s still plagued with the same problems.

I mean there are adverts on TV for this right now (and other charity’s)

Not sure anyone implied that you agree with what a person's done if you listen to their music/watch their films. It doesn't sit well with some people (myself included) and that's a good enough reason not to listen/watch anymore.

As for all musicians being cunts/weirdos....that's utter bullshit and a total generalisation.

Had no idea about Spacey (I try to avoid the news tbh), never been a fab personally, although I do love Usual Suspects. Not sure I could watch it now though without being distracted.
