A rescue Collie from The Dogs Trust, crossed with Labrador and Shepherd. Pure Black, brown eyes and super clever. She had been battered, kept in a cage, we think fed in the dark as she wouldn't take food in daylight and seriously neglected. Now she's treated like a Princess.

I totally adore her. She keeps me going.

6 cockers

2 labs

1 collie

2 fox terriers

1 Suffolk punch

12 red polls

1 simmental bull

18 British whites

10 large blacks

2 texel mule rams

150 cheviot texel ewes

8 chickens

And about 3,500. pheasants and 1800 partridges

Now I guess not all of these are pets lol but they are all fed and cared for and take up time so all most no different. Maybe the end result for some of them differs to your standard car or dog lol

tend to agree, we lost a collie not even 4 years through epilepsy and even though we 'showed him' and allowed the surviving dog to sniff him so he knew he was gone we could see that he still missed his mucker..

took us 8 months till we got another but so glad we did..

"My border terrier, Molly, aged 12 was put down today. Devastated."

Ah, sorry to hear that you must be devastated. I had one of mine put to sleep over 3 yrs ago but not a day goes by that I don’t think of her. You probably won’t want to hear this now but believe me it gets easier over time. Remember the good times you had with her. The greatest thing you can do for your pet is knowing when to let go. Big hugs XX

Someone sent me this when I lost my baby-

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

"A rescue Collie from The Dogs Trust, crossed with Labrador and Shepherd. Pure Black, brown eyes and super clever. She had been battered, kept in a cage, we think fed in the dark as she wouldn't take food in daylight and seriously neglected. Now she's treated like a Princess.

I totally adore her. She keeps me going. "

That is lovely...she actually choose you

"6 cockers

2 labs

1 collie

2 fox terriers

1 Suffolk punch

12 red polls

1 simmental bull

18 British whites

10 large blacks

2 texel mule rams

150 cheviot texel ewes

8 chickens

And about 3,500. pheasants and 1800 partridges

Now I guess not all of these are pets lol but they are all fed and cared for and take up time so all most no different. Maybe the end result for some of them differs to your standard car or dog lol"

Well whoever told you that is an idiot, I don’t need to tell you animals are the greatest gift we’ll ever receive. I’d rather be single for the rest of my life than live without my dog.
