Just seen the Old Vic have now said there's 20 complaints against Spacey (despite saying previously there wasn't).
Louis CK admitted allegations against him were true commenting 'At the time, I said to myself that what I did was O.K. because I never showed a woman my dick without asking first, which is also true. But what I learned later in life, too late, is that when you have power over another person, asking them to look at your dick isn’t a question. It’s a predicament for them. The power I had over these women is that they admired me. And I wielded that power irresponsibly.'
So my question is about where you cross the line between what's ok and appropriate and what's not and inappropriate and harming. Bullying, emotional abuse, sexual harassment - most people accused deny that's what they've done but for whoever was on the receiving end, that's what their behaviour was to them.
Where's that line for you and why? |

I’m more aware as I believe myself to be up to date with modern attitudes and often ensure I keep a respectful distance. But this hasn’t always been the case, I’ve served in the Army worked in all Male industries inc Building sites and have been both sexist, homophobic and transphobic in the past (ironic eh !).
But times change and I insist on changing with them, my attitude towards women, other religions and sexuality especially.
Yes, closer to a woolly liberal than Alpha Male now but happier for it, I really do try, not to upset or inflict hurt upon others no matter who they are. Not perfect but really trying not to be the person I once was. |
