Morning to you all,
Just wondering if any of you have ever been blocked or had a possible meet break down because of your job or something you are interested in etc.
A nunber of weeks ago I was speaking to a lovely lady, we were getting on well and chatting away, arranged a meet and so on. Things looked good. We arranged to go for dinner as I prefer a social before anything, I asked is there anywhere she’d like to go/avoid...... “I’m vegan” she relied.
It was at this point I asked her if she knew what I did for a living...... work on a farm and gamekeeper.
I never heard from her again lol
Now I have morning against anyone vegan, veggie or other wise. The same I don’t have anything hasn’t those who disagree with some farming practices or shooting or other country pursuits. I’m aware of what I do, I’m aware others won’t like it etc but seeing as this isn’t a site where we are looking for love would it matter so much? I guess so to some and that’s a credit to their passion for what they believe in.
Anyway I’m going on a bit now. So the question still stands !!!
And please don’t block me haha

I don't think that's happened to me or at least that I'm aware off.
The professional thing makes me laugh, how some people will only meet if you are.
I disagree that people are here looking for love, I think for the majority it's the opposite. Don't confuse love and lustre, they are different things quite often. |

I can see why she didn't carry on. It's a fundamental juxtaposition to he beliefs.
This almost carries on from the thread transgender thread yesterday.
What is relevant in casual sex? What is casual sex? Is it just the sex act or is it a grey area somewhere between a shag and a full relationship. It's all relative.

In your case OP, being vegan isn't just about what you eat, it's an entire lifestyle choice based on multiple issues.
Someone with those ideals would not be comfortable with someone who was in an industry that went against all their moral values.
I can also see why many jobs may put people off, based on their own life experiences too.
Sad as it is, certain groups do get tarnished by the actions of others.
So someone who maybe had a bad interaction with someone from a certain profession or even race, would actively avoid meeting from that demographic again

It wouldn't bother me. It's one of the things I never really talk about anyway as my profession is part of my private life. I'm interested in great banter, a connection and attraction, not what you do for a living. However, if you wanted to talk about life on the farm, that would be fine with me. |

Being vegan is a very committed lifestyle choice. And I'm not sure why anyone would be surprised why those principals would be a factor in meeting soneone for sex |

I am only 'guessing', that if one had made such a committed lifestyle choice as being vegan. Being with someone who shot animals for sport, they would always see that person 'having blood on their hands', so to speak, representing opposite to everything they believed in. Saying that, the photo's and profile make it pretty clear what the gentleman did, so how it got to chatting, possibly coffee, I don't know. The OP was open enough. |

I guess people choose not to see people for various beliefs they hold.
Religion, politics, moral beleifs and of course life style choice.
Vegan is a moral & lifestyle choice so if meeting/having sex with you OP causes her conflict of interest then she did the right thing by her.

I wouldn’t block a game keeper as such. But anyone who participated in fox hunting could be the most stunning person in the world, but I couldn’t bring myself to touch them. |

Oh god haha I just re-read my original post and I’d block me! Some epic typos in there haha. I can spell and string a sentence together I promise
Some good points raised by many and thank you for your time. I’m so used to being judged in my “normal life” that I shouldn’t be surprised to get some similar treatment on here. Everyone has their opinions and views though and I respect that.
I was hoping I’d stumble across some similar country esque type folk on here as apparently we are all so naughty lol but sadly Iv seen very little welly wearers haha.
As for the landy pic and me smoking but being a non smoker, it does state in my profile that I’m an ex smoker and that’s an old ish pic. And with regards to the looking for love comment, I meant this is not a site where we are looking for love. So no confusion over lust and love my friend
I was relieved to not get any abuse with this thread though was sure I’d get one or two people have a pop. Not checked my inbox yet mind |

I find that vegans who make that lifestyle choice for moral and ethical reasons are far more intolerant and prejudiced towards non-vegans than those who choose to be vegan for medical reasons. |

I have friends that are vegan and while they'd date meat eaters dating or even just sleeping with someone who actively goes against everything they believe in is a big no for them.
That's like expecting a vegan to be ok sleeping with a butcher or a fishmonger, it wouldn't happen |

Yes, was chatting to a women a while back who was quite close to me where I work, we where getting on great until I told her exactly where I worked, then I was blocked, so can only assume she has had dealing with the company in the past. |

I doubt that's the full story. In the historic societal sense, men are bread winners and women need to look hot and produce babies. Men are generally not put off by a woman's inability to provide for them or low employment status. Are you sure she doesn't have BO? |

I know a few who use the vegan diet for fitness purposes. But not all the politics that go with it. Id even go vegan diet myself. But id shoot more animals to compensate. |
