where are you measuring the resistance and what is the problem you are encountering?

Oh right, checking for poor contacts in lighing, circuit.

Checking from cut wiring about half a meter from light.

Bulb is closing the circuit at that end. Im checking it over before fitting it into car.

Reson im checking it is the bulb seems dull. Contacts in the fitting look clean and used contact cleaner. No deposits in bulb

Checked it works by putting it directly onto battery. It lights up but is dull. It's 10 amp so not expecting it to be bright. It's the rear number plate light

do a voltage drop test on the circuit. https://youtu.be/w9w5RC2X5UQ

This will show you if/where resistance is causing a problem.

Have you also confirmed it is supposed to be a 10w bulb fitted and have you tried a new bulb? Number plate lights arent supposed to be too bright anyway so aslong as it is lit up enough to be legible you are fine.

Check the Earth circuit as well on volt drop.

Make sure it’s a 12v bulb and not 24 volt from a HGV
