Two that mad me cringe when I heard them..
"Obvs" said out loud - it's bad enough in the written form..but verbally!!
The other I heard in the office when a female visiting American was told she was a "hero" for a particular piece of work she'd done, she replied totally straight faced "I'm not a hero, I'm a she-ro"
Oh and one more, although it's a gesture not a word - when people do "air" quote marks to make a point - have caught myself doing it on occasion and cringe inwardly!! |
