BBC news showing an article about a gallery exhibition in the That There London. All about "The North" and the only pictures that show are from the 60's, back to backs and 70 year old women in scarfs and curlers.

It irritates me that to the news THE NORTH stops at Leeds! I have no problem with Leeds, and mucho love to all that reside there you guys know how to party!
I too am from the beloved North East where no matter what the weather no coats are worn on a Saturday night out in toon!
Neither to people talk as broad geordie as the do on the car crash of a show geordie shore! I must apologise that our region has inflicted this pain upon the world |

There wasn't a whippet or a flat cap to be seen and, to be fair you must all at least have left the 60s and 70s by now and be living in the 80s or the 90s! I am sure that there are still a few rural areas that are still lagging behind though! |

Always going to happen. No matter how much of a proud workhorse that carries the country the north will be, the south will always try and stamp on it. Look what happened to the national media museum; the conservatives took what they wanted down south, killed the funding for it, and starved it of cultural support till it got changed to a media science museum. Apparently, we don't deserve any culture up here |

I went to The North once. It were grim.
No but seriously, I lived in 'Ull for 4 years and it was all right, and I make regular trips to Leeds to visit friends. I'd much rather have a night out in Leeds than That London. |
